http://a2.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot..._8258062_n.jpg fitted in place http://a6.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot..._8210918_n.jpg driver and passenger side welded in place http://a2.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot..._4240295_n.jpg http://a1.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot..._7228679_n.jpg also started the sub belt mount. http://a3.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot..._5534390_n.jpg http://a7.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot..._4907973_n.jpg also got the console mounted the other day with some of the mounts from the '01 camaro http://a8.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot...6_380222_n.jpg http://a4.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot..._3783610_n.jpg http://a4.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot..._4135588_n.jpg http://a1.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot..._2220161_n.jpg |
got the nuts i needed to finish the harness mounts today. got them tigged onto the mount plate
http://a8.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot...3_293577_n.jpg then got it test fitted to make sure it was bent tight to the floor. http://a2.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot..._7162192_n.jpg then fully welded and spot welded in the center http://a1.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot..._2456345_n.jpg then got the stock seat belt mounts moved back a few inches because of moving the seats back a few inches that way i had the correct belt angle. http://a3.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot..._3495919_n.jpg then i cut out the hole and spot welds from the stock belt mount. http://a1.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot..._2710261_n.jpg then got the new patch welded and smoothed. http://a4.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot..._4753039_n.jpg that concluded 90% of the driver side fab work. next on the list is floor mount pedals. should start on the passenger side tomorrow to get the same work done. |
worked on the car for a few hours today to get the harness mounts finished up. here is where i started. i had a few people ask me about the in between start and finish pictures.
http://a1.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot..._3190692_n.jpg hole cut for the patch plate. http://a5.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot..._3951760_n.jpg weld, cool, weld, cool, repeat http://a1.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot..._4713659_n.jpg grind to finish and done. http://a5.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot..._6105583_n.jpg then measured for the relocated backing plate and got it ready to weld in. http://a2.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot..._4828371_n.jpg weld the four plug welds, grind, hit it with some 180 and done. http://a2.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot..._4771949_n.jpg then i welded in the sub belt plate. http://a1.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot..._4799785_n.jpg also went to jegs and picked up a few things for an upcoming project for the car. more to come on that when the rest of the parts get here. |

thanks! also i'm taking ideas from your sunoco camaro:thumbsup:
got some sheet metal and got to work. started with a battery box for the battery mount. levels the battery in the trunk instead of it sitting crooked. laid out some measurements http://a6.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot..._8016251_n.jpg then i cut on the lines and bent the sides up http://a8.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot..._7502731_n.jpg and TIG welded it all together http://a6.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot..._6795498_n.jpg http://a3.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot..._3513065_n.jpg then traced a cut line and cut it out http://a8.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot..._1359041_n.jpg http://a1.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot..._5176733_n.jpg test fit to trace a cut line for the correct height http://a7.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot..._7985685_n.jpg welded and smoothed http://a6.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot..._4313054_n.jpg then made up some fill panels since i removed my package tray. this was also my first attempt with a bead roller, came out pretty good for a newb. http://a3.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot..._2892444_n.jpg then tacked them into place after some primer/sealer http://a8.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot..._2659018_n.jpg http://a2.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot..._2464395_n.jpg hopefully tomorrow i'll be able to get the fill panel done for the rear suspension and the trans tunnel mocked up. |
