Big motor for only 302 CI.. I like the way a Coyote would look in a engine bay.. but packaging is tough.. The LS engine is an all around good motor that can build some serious HP & close to being the same size as a gen 1 SBC..
Right now I still have plans to make sure that what ever custom work I do to fit the LS engine.. also works for the Coyote.. on the x-member & engine mounts... If not I got a 67 FB that I will fit it in that I can cut it all up to proof fitment.. I got alot Mustang stuff going on.. Plus Mopar stuff that I will be working on in mid January.. I might be getting a 70 Cuda Prototype re-production shell to play with.. Quote:
Skip- I have seen this thread... Thank you for the info.. Quote:

Cris hope to see that coyote go in there! I just dont like seeing a chevrolet motor in a ford.
PS. if you end up getting rid of the coyote i might be interested in the dynatech headers  |
With all the changes going on this Mustang.. I feel like we got something done this week on her! We got most of the main floor structure back in place with Firewall.. though we cut a part of it out.. Got the doors back on the car with the front Anvil 1.5 stretched fenders.. Got the LS with T56 staged between the frame rails.. got plenty of room now.. Looks like the 1st gen Camaro LS headers from Dynatech will work.. We moved the motor as far back as we could.. Some progress :_paranoid

Shame to see the Ford 5.0 didn't work out. Now you're going to have to change the project name. ;)

Here are some updates on the Mustang... We got the transmission support going & some firewall work going .. The owner said to keep it simple.. doing my best to keep the project moving forward & trying not to get carried away with crazy fab work & one off machined pcs.. :D
I will post pics later of the firewall with the Wilwood pedal assembly.. http://i1015.photobucket.com/albums/...n/IMG_1895.jpg http://i1015.photobucket.com/albums/...n/IMG_1928.jpg http://i1015.photobucket.com/albums/...n/IMG_1929.jpg |
looking good.

Thanks Bryce! This is where we finished off today.. Their is a 1.5 x 1.5 x .120 square tubing built into the frame of the firewall that ties into the new rockers we built & the torque boxes.. I got some cool ideas for the down bars.. got to get some parts machined for that..
http://i1015.photobucket.com/albums/...n/IMG_1936.jpg Next week I fire up my new toy! Looking forward to the pcs we will be fabricating soon! http://i1015.photobucket.com/albums/...n/IMG_1934.jpg Quote:

Wow, the LS engine looks like it's going to have A LOT of space to play around! Even though it's not my favorite setup, well, that's the client's choice, and still it's a really good choice, considering the economy of an LS engine compared to a 5.0. Dunno, I like it, it's different, and we should wait for the result to be sure if it's for the best or the worst, though I don't think it's for the worst. Shiny side up guys!

Sorry it's a little late but I was thinking, if the customer wants the LS to look a little less out of place you can do the front mount distributor conversion along with a carb style intake and paint the engine Ford blue. That should really cause some double takes. Just check out RSX302's built on p-t.com Just a thought. Love your work Cris so I know the car is going to turn out great no matter what.
