The work you are doing on the Camaro (with Jayden’s help and your little princess) is awesome! You are putting effort addressing and improving things on the car and it is coming out insane; I LOVE the color!

I am glad you continued the project and you are bringing your vision to life through the build. Thank you for the message as well, means a lot and got me motivated to get back on the saddle!

All good man. Thanks for the compliment. One of my motto's is, "Nothing good is easy". This car is testament to that. It would have been too easy if everything worked out perfectly.

Everything thus far looks spot on. With all of the research and homework we do building these cars - it is by far the most exciting part of the build seeing it all come together. As stated by many in this thread....the best part is having your son involved. These are memories both of you will never forget and always reflect back on which is priceless!

Thanks man. The Rotiform LVS are my favorite. The build cost is steep for them, and I'm second guessing my decision not to tub the car. I might purchase a used wheel set in the interim, and do the mini-tub before buying the LVS wheels. The current wheels need to go. I believe one of them is cracked and the rest are pretty beat up.

I'll be on the lookout for wheel options at SEMA this year, as well as some other things.

In regards to my kids helping, they are the best helpers a dad can have. Last night, my daughter banged the front of the car with a wrench I asked her to pick up for me, and I just had to smile. I'll look back at that blemish in the paint and remember her handing me the wrench.

Its been a few months since I've updated this thread.

The car is still a work in progress. The engine has been wired and fired. Thompson did a great job with the motor and everything is running great.

Denny's is building a new driveshaft for the car and it should be here soon.

My dad came over to give me a hand with setting up the brake system and he is quite a fan of the project:

I had originally wanted a lowback style seat but changed my mind due to safety concerns. I ordered a set of Corbeau A4's for the car. My kids are enjoying them right now:

Next up is to get the AAW wiring kit installed and finish the interior. Glass will be installed soon, along with all the trim.

Here is a pic of the gauge cluster with the new Autometer gauges:

One question for the forum is what headers provide the most ground clearance. I'm running a stock subframe with Dynatech headers. The headers hang extremely low. I'm happy with the position of the motor, so its not an option to change the orientation. Has anyone used Hookers new mid-length header? My concern is the fitment around the 500 gearbox I'm running. Any input will be greatly appreciated.

Jason,
Before you change out the headers, try flipping the motor mounts around, so that the tabs are at the bottom. There is a picture of the motor mounts for Ridetech Velocity Camaro on pt.com. Rumors had it that Dynatech used Velocity to develop the headers (post 57 in below link). I swapped my mounts around and gained roughly an inch.

Just a thought, unless you absolutely want a new set of headers.

Did the flip of the mount alter your driveline angle? What is your driveline angle currently?

Looking good

I like the boss/ridler style wheels myself, but if wide multi-piece wheels are in order..check into BCforged or Avant Garde well

The Boss wheels came with the car and won't be used once its complete.

Jay will be setting me up with a set of Budniks.

About 3.5*. No vibration. I'm using the recommended DSE mounts/Bowler crossmember though.

Denny's did a great job with the driveshaft...its a shame it can't be seen:

The new backlit Autometer's are pretty rad:

I was able to drive the car out of the garage under its own power for the first time since I got it. It was dark, so no quality video of the voyage.

I'm looking forward to getting this car on the road legally, even if it doesn't have a finished interior. :D

Just some random shots from this afternoon:

I picked up Tu's (rickpaw) Budniks so I'm anxious to get those installed.

Interior is coming along. Glass should be here this week sometime.

:D

Your driveway looks very familiar....you need to do the video when you finish....
