Sure hope your luck holds and that's the only rust spot that you find. It's great that it's where you are replacing the metal anyway. Looks like Russ did a smooth job of removing the welds for the rear frame rails. Upwards and onward.

Engine looking good. Looking forward to when you can post a video clip of it at startup and idling. The valve cover's look as good as the ones Holley is selling for nearly $200, so good for the budget.

Great progress to date. Waiting for the next chapter in the saga.

Mike at Muscle Rodz ordered a set of RECARO Specialist's for me. I went with the leather covered ones and like he said they are 4-6 weeks out. Won't be able to install them for a few so the wait isn't a big deal.

Easy!? I'm good and punching my C.C. number into the computer and hitting send. I've got great people helping me and that's what's making things move along at a steady pace. There will be some slow periods, but that's to be expected.

Got a stack of parts Monday. Thanks for all the help getting the right stuff the first time!

Me too!!! Yeah that one was lucky. I expect more though.

Can't wait to hear it fire and run for the first time. I was hoping to have it done by Christmas, but we are talking about paint now rather than later. That means 6 months minimum, before I'll have the car back and will be able to start putting it back together. Trying to pick a color for the car is driving me nuts. Everything looks good, but nothing seems right. Ugh. I'll do my best to keep some kind of update going.

Color suggestion

One of the colors I'm considering is Ferrari Rubino Red. Another is Audi's Scuba Blue on the 2014 A3.

Rick,

Once I had the car blown apart, I realized that it's just way to much work to not paint the car right now. I really don't want to do all that twice. I wanted a running driving PT car, but couldn't find anything that was exactly what I want. When Paul mentioned the 67, the build wheels in my head started turning again. My problem is that I am impatient and can't stand to let things sit for to long. Don't worry, there will be plenty of pictures.

Rod those are some great color choices! Here are the three that are the top of my list at the moment. Feedback would be appreciated.

those 3 colors couldn't be any more different. I would say a rendering is in order.
