From my limited knowledge on suspensions I think the location of the bar sets the rear roll center. If it is not level the car will roll different amounts for say a left corner compared to a right corner. I am just learning about suspensions so if I have this wrong please correct me.

It's the bar that run across the rear end diagonally. I would ask Speedtech if it is installed correctly. Looks like the bracket was installed to high. I could be wrong but looking at some of their gallery photos it is different. maybe its the angle of the photo. But like I said I would at least call them or PM Blake and see what he says.

Good eye. You're correct. A panhard bar is to be level with the ground when the car is at ride height in order to prevent it from behaving differently going around right versus left turns. I hate to say it but it does look like something was installed wrong there. I don't see how it can be adjusted enough to get the bar level.

When I get it back to my new shop will get some better pictures and have him look at it. If it is installed wrong I know Rick will fix at Rick Stevens race cars by all means. Just my luck with this car been one thing after another. LOL

Hopefully it is installed correctly but if not it's better to find out now with it fresh in your installers mind.
With myself on setbacks, I know I'm going to have them because I have never done this before. I will try to not have them but, I will manage and accept them when they happen so as not to take the fun out of it. What do they say "It's the journey not the destination". Or something like that. Anyways keep up the progress it's looking good.

Message from Rick Stevens who did the install.

The installation was done as per the instructions that came with the kit. Yes the pan hard bar should be as close to level as possible to prevent side to side movement of the rear housing as it travels up and down. There are adjustments for that, but we didn't try to set everything up exact, because the car wasn't finished and final ride height wasn't determined yet. The brackets that were provided will only go on one way, and they are from a reputable company, so I seriously doubt you have anything to worry about. When it's all finished up, we will do a final setup and scale, and get everything adjusted properly.

Picked up a sweet score yesterday. Looks like this car will be ls powered after all. Bought a ls7 from a local member yesterday best part had the flywheel and harness for my 4l80e.

When he started posting the accessory pics with the harness, etc, it got to be a screaming deal.

Been a while but making progress.

Well has been a while since I posted anything but my new mechanic has really been getting things done. He has fixed lot of issues from the other shop did bad work on and corrected all those mistakes. Car is still not running but is finally looking like a car again. Here is some pics from the last month my new mechanic works and works on my car on the side when he is off. I am happy with that because what work he does do to the car is done right which is something have not had before. LOL

We pulled the sbc out of the car and installed the ls7 I bought recently. We converted the ls7 from dry sump to wet sump. The accessory drive that came with the ls7 was for a impala ss which was for a low mount drive. I had to buy the high mount brackets so everything would fit right on my car. While the motor was out we undercoated all underneath the car since replaced all trunk, floor boards, and everything else earlier in the build.

First time the car seen the light of day in probably two months. I know it is a ugly duckling but will have be this way for a while. I have talked to about ten paint shops in Houston who people referred and everyone of them said six to eight months. I know I may be in the wrong business but understand there is a reason they are that busy I guess so will just have stay like this for a while.

I had Keith at custom works make some gauges from speed hut with there bezel. I like the way they came out I play pool so maybe not for everyone but that is what I like to do so added little 8 ball on the tach. They will light up blue and red at night.

I had Roger at emblem pro make be some new emblems for the car which he did a real good job. Going paint this car silver when the paint shop can get to it so think these will look real good on that color.

We hope have the car running in next four to six weeks. I have had this car since December and my goal was to take it on the power tour. That did not happen then it was to take to good guys in Fort Worth in October which did not happen. My new goal is to have it running before my daughters birthday in November around thanksgiving.

Sure doesn't look like an ugly duckling to me.
