LOL - yep that dare to be different crowd came over me. Wow was that an expensive choice.

It's actually a Old Bush Series engine except everything is brand new. Yep v6 parts are usally double the cost of v8 parts. My billet crank cost $3000.00 the rods and pistons were just as expensive. Thank God Rockford Racecraft has helped along the way with Sponsorship (cost breaks) on the Parts for the inside of the engine. But I still think i'm near 20 grand for the Long block and intake.

syborg tt 12-08-2006 07:08 AM

okay need some help. Last night I was thinking about the interior. Right now we are focused on the Dash and I am trying to decided if we should paint it or cover it in leather.

Any and all opinions and advice is appreciated.

PLEASE! Paint it! I painted mine And I am sooooo glad I did cover anything on it.

Sales@Dutchboys 12-08-2006 07:22 AM

Ill just link it too you im a PM

Sales@Dutchboys 12-08-2006 07:23 AM

PM sent.

black2002ls 12-10-2006 09:04 AM

I say paint. The only thing I've ever been concerned with on a painted dash is the possibility of a bad glare coming off of the top..

Sales@Dutchboys 12-10-2006 10:17 AM

I would just flat clear it.

That's flat killer.

Good Morning All,

Core Support is finally starting to look complete and clean.
Kevin capped the back of the support to give it a finished look.

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._12_09_007.jpg

Before - Original Core Support.
Notice the big ugly lip on the core support

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album...4_10_04_10.jpg

After.
Now it's nice and smooth

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._12_09_008.jpg

Just a quick shoot of the first transition - more to come

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._12_09_012.jpg

Kevin is going to make the final shroud over the Radiator.

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._12_09_013.jpg

syborg tt 12-10-2006 09:49 PM

Dave removed the inner part of the fender to add clearance.

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._12_09_016.jpg

On Saturday we moved up the inner part of the fender to check for clearance.
When the suspension is air out it looks like it's only has to be raised 2".

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._12_09_019.jpg

Billet Hinges installed and they look nice. They will still need some finish work.

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._12_09_020.jpg

New Tie rod Sleeves - Just trying to clean up the underside a little.

12-14 Update - Radio & Vintage Air Controls

Good Morning All,

The dash is almost complete Dave mounted the Radio & Vintage air controls.

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._12_14_001.jpg

Dave needed to do just a little trimming to make it work but it works.

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._12_14_009.jpg

Dave also finished the trim piece that goes under the Billet Specialties Steering Column.

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._12_14_004.jpg

Once again want to thank Don at Village Auto for taking care of the sound system for me and the guy's at Vintage Air.

12-16 Update - Inner Fenders Design

Okay I've been battling this in my mind for weeks if not months.
I wanted something different yet functional and I think we've got it.

This is the basic shape of the inner fender.
We should have plenty of clearance turning the wheel.

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._12_16_004.jpg

Here is the Ariel View.
Don't forget there is a 3" Elbow that leads down to the turbo.

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._12_16_011.jpg

The look from the core support.
We may need to scallop the inner fender just a little for the turbo.
It's hard to tell in the picture but the Turbo is 1.5" from the inner fender.

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._12_16_013.jpg

View from the Drivers Side
The transition will be a little softer, it's really hard to make chipboard bend.

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._12_16_014.jpg

Okay last view.

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._12_16_015.jpg

More to come later in the week.

Jons and awesome guy.

syborg tt 12-26-2006 04:11 PM

Merry Christmas to all,

It's been a long time coming and they are finally complete.

It's hard to believe that after making at least 15 different chipboard versions
we finally have Inner Fenders.

This gives you an idea how much of the Fenders structure needed to be removed to make room
for the tire when the truck is lowered.

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._12_21_001.jpg

You can see how the inner fender is mounted to the firewall.
Mounting from the underside hides all the hardware in the engine bay.

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._12_23_009.jpg

Dave beed rolled the Inner Fender to add strength.

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._12_23_019.jpg

Close up view of the front of the inner fender.
We still have to drill 2 access holes in the front of the fender to remove the air boxes.

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._12_23_016.jpg

Quick Picture with the Turbo and Downpipe installed.

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._12_23_015.jpg

syborg tt 12-26-2006 04:12 PM

The engine bay with both inner fenders. I am very happy with the Final product.
You can tell there custom but yet they look stock and maintain the original goal of the truck to make it appear as a factory prototype.

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._12_23_004.jpg

Air Inlet from the Intercooler has plenty of clearance.

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._12_23_023.jpg

Air box installed.

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._12_23_025.jpg

Thanks again for watching the build of my truck this last year.
It has been a blast to build and I can't wait to see it finally get painted.
This next year promises to be very exciting.

Sales@Dutchboys 12-26-2006 05:22 PM

Looks great! Thanks for the pics.

black2002ls 12-26-2006 07:22 PM

Lookin' good Marty, .

syborg tt 01-09-2007 02:39 PM

Some say better late then never.

I have a bunch of updates to do so i will post them individually

Dave had to reroute one of the air intake tubes to get around the new inner fender.

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._12_26_006.jpg

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._12_26_008.jpg

We finally made the new lower column mount.

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._12_27_041.jpg

Kevin mounted the Power Steering Tank from Billet Specialties

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._12_27_042.jpg

It was hard but we finally found a location for the a/c drier.
See if you can guess where it's mounted.

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._12_27_043.jpg

syborg tt 01-09-2007 02:40 PM

Dave also mounted the hood pin in the core support.
Ron & I are working on the Skuff plate for the hood.
Pics very soon I promise.

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._12_27_044.jpg

Normally I would say something like more to come next week.
But since I am already 2 weeks behind.

Well someone took the body off my truck.

No actually Dave & Kevin removed it so they could plumb the brake lines.

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._12_29_024.jpg

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._12_29_025.jpg

still plenty more post to follow

syborg tt 01-09-2007 02:41 PM

Dave ran all the brake lines while the body was off.

This way they could keep everything tight to the frame.

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._12_29_026.jpg

Man I can't wait till the frame is painted.

Really, I had to take picture of the motor while it was out of the truck.

Dave and I worked on a design for the Turbo Support Brackets.
It will follow the same theme as the Billet Specialties Brackets

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._01_04_006.jpg

Kevin Boxed in the motor mounts.
Yes, there is a drain hole in the back just in case they get wet.

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._01_04_008.jpg

Dave also finished the brake lines in the front.
