the intercooler is 3.5" in and out, but I couldn't fit anything larger than 3". I may have someone who knows more than me look at it later to see if there's a better way to do it. It has 2" coming out of the turbos, merging to a 3" into the intercooler, and 3" from the intercooler to the throttle body.

Coming along great Jody! By looking at the time of some of your posts I take it there are late night's in there.

Can't wait to see the whole car pic outside the garage... Or better yet, maybe at Sac raceway!!!!!:D

Picked up my speakers today. Going to install them and get the stereo done tonight, so I can put carpet in tomorrow. New SC&C control arms should be in tomorrow, so should be able to start driving and tuning this weekend.

Someone who knows more than you... your funny!
I know how you feel. I spent a lot of late nights trying to figure out the same thing. Almost gave up a few times. The intercooling was the hardest part of all the plumbing on my car. My turbos are 2.5". I went with two intercoolers with 2.5" in/out and merged them at the throttle. I still felt like I compromised some of the airflow.
Hey,Yeah, are you going to take it to any local car shows?

Ahhh yes- the sweet patina of heated stainless- I love it. Polished is great, but seeing the rainbow after a nice weld is just as cool.

Just got my PHR mag in the mail Today. The car looks killer in the under construction section  Nice to see that car in print again!

Oh, the car had a stereo in it when I bought it, but it wouldn't even turn on. I figured I'd mess with it when I put the car back together, probably a fuse or something simple. Well, after losing a couple hours testing it, it doesn't work............ So, since it had been remanufactured once already judging by the sticker on the unit, I decided to remanufacture it again........:unibrow:

If you look in the first pic I have a new Kenwood with Sirius capability, and since I have a lifetime membership I'm going to take advantage of it.

Looks killer Jody. I saw it in PHR as well - even the "Painter" got some props! Way to go Jim!! Glad to hear you got the computer issues solved. Tick-tock...the clock is winding down - hope things continue rolling forward and you are able to make it on the PT.

That's like me finding a woman and getting laid again. You're asking for way too much from Jody. He's an old man. You gotta remember that. This build is taking years off his already...... Crap. Not only do I have foot in mouth disease, but I just caught foot up ass disease as well. Awesome...

Jody

camcojb 05-12-2008 05:06 PM

well, bought a new camera so this is catch up from this weekend. Basically, got the carpet done, console in, rear seat, door hardware and mouldings, and since painter Jim was over looking for new scratches............... :D I had him help me mount the hood.

here's a view of the Marquez hood stops; on the Chevelle they had to be all the way down for proper adjustment, which is fine because I was going to have to cut a stainless sleeve to length to cover the threads, now I don't have to........... :D

http://www.camcojb.com/temp/malitude 667.jpg

Also, in case anyone's interested, the DSE Nova stainless hood pin works on the early Chevelles perfectly...............

http://www.camcojb.com/temp/malitude 669.jpg

I just finished installing new SC&C upper control arms to replace the Hotchkis ones which didn't play well with my downpipes. I'm heading back out to do an alignment. I get my drivers seat bracket tomorrow from Griffin Motorwerke for the Recaros, so I should be able to take it for a spin.

Camera probably worn out, its been great to follow this along almost everyday. Your probably worn out too, but it sure has been fun for us, LOL. Keep the updates coming and of course a sneak peek video of it running. Congrats on the perserverence and craftsmanship. Car really looks as good as it possibly ever could by anyone, great job.

Jody

camcojb 05-13-2008 04:01 PM

well, after aligning the car ran into a huge snag; the front wheels will not work. I used a 17X8" with the largest bs they offered at 4.75" but it's a no-go with the 245/45 tire. This combo works great on a Camaro, but not the early Chevelle.

So I once again called Frank at Prodigy/GP Superstore and he just happened to have a set of wheels with the proper offsets to work with the car. I'll post pics once I have them on the car. He assures me I'll love them.................. :D I'm like :willy: Thanks Frank, this was a deal buster as far as making Power Tour.

It is always something...:faint:

What wasn't working, tell us. We are so many following this and are behind you so we want to know more. I guess they hit something when turning. What specs will the new ones have.

Keep up the spirit, you'llmake it.

Jan

the mistake was that Mark Stielow had used a 17x8" with 5.25" bs and the wheels I bought offered a max of 4.75". I swapped to AFX spindles that got .300" or so back, but I was still 1/4" or so further out, and it flat won't work. The tires are rubbing at 15 degrees of wheel turn, which isn't much, even with 1 degree of camber....

ProdigyCustoms 05-14-2008 02:53 AM

Gentlemen, Jody is getting our newest and new favorite wheel! That's all I can say for now. I cannot wait to get them on this car! Sick I tell ya, absolutely sick! He gets the first set and if I could choose a car to debut them on, this would be it.

Jody, this nightmare wheel thing is going to turn into a dream you did not know you had.

Stay tuned guys!

Thanks for trusting us Jody.

boonedog 05-14-2008 07:05 AM

when can we expect the pics of the new wheels?

XcYZ 05-14-2008 07:15 AM

I told Jody that he shouldn't post any pics of the wheels until they are mounted so we can get the maximum shock and awe factor. :D

The wheels are bad. :woot:
