Couple of shots of the race car getting closer to completion. Got the hood mounted today, and the parachute packed. Leaving wheelie bars off for now but will put them on when it gets out to the track. Thought you guys would like to see the car fully dressed.

Dougster - What are "average" quarter mile times and speed for that car?
It looks like a spectacular sleeper. :secret: |
Well, hoping it will go 7.80's with the current setup Scott. Not sure we will get there with this motor (434 sbc and ProCharger F3 @ 28 pds boost) but it might if we get a good tune for the tire in it. It's got a brand new suspension/frame setup from the firewall back--all round tube chromemolly.

Punch it!! I know the road....

Very nice Doug, that will wake you up. :Tomcat:
|
Sweet Intros Dub. ;)
|
I saw the car over at Brett's last week. It is going to be sweet!

Very cool Doug. Looks like a blast!
|
I love the drag car. Is it an all steel car minus the hood? What does it weigh? Drag racing is still my first love and I love the look of your car. We still have the bracket car that my dad and I raced in the mid eighties when I was in high school. It may be time to bring it back out now that I have a son that's a freshman in hs.
|
Ok taking video from the front of a forced induction car doesn't make for the best sound but I caught a bit of Doug's green monster running today :)
|
Sounds so sweet Doug!
|
Oh now that is just UNFAIR.
:peepwall: :sieg: |
That is awesome!

I like the two out the left exhaust. Was this a necessity or just a desire?

That same side exit exhaust is pretty trick. I'm digging that. Some 3rd gen Camaros did that for a while. |

It looks great under there!
|
At first I thought you offset to the gas tank to balance the weight. Not too many options with the panhard bar and link bracketry.
|
That is awesome!!
A mean 235 HP engine. :unibrow: |
Great stuff...that exhaust looks great and sounds like it will perform excellent. I'm looking forward to hearing how it sounds. :unibrow:
I'm not sure if I missed it, but what type of glasspacks did you use for the exhaust? Thanks for the updates. |
It's even cooler in person----it really looks awesome under there and sounds much, much better than it did before. Very unique and super creative setup. Another awesome job by Fab 53!

Sounds like you have really helped awaken the beast known as 'Fresh touring'. :D Looks great too. |
Sounds like you are being quite generous with the 235 hp comment.
Exhaust sounds incredible. |
