:wow:

I knew a comment like that was coming.... and I shoulda known it would come from you :_paranoid

I predict the Greg Weld bubbletop will be the biggest thread on Lat G, after mine of course.

Guys, I stopped by Ironworks on my travels to Buttonwillow. I was very impressed with the shop and projects. The office manager scared the hell out of me. Big, old, hairy looking sasquatch.:unibrow:

Thank you very much. We have customers that allow us to keep the lights on and be able to build this stuff everyday.

Seems that all I have been doing is small little emblems.
I want something big to work on.

First pic is a CAD model. Second pic is of a laser scan of a factory emblem, that is going to be updated in Billet.

Remember the old Big Daddy Ed Roth cars? I'm thinking about a recreation/clone/tribute car along those lines. AKA: Bubbletop

ironworks 12-09-2011 05:41 PM

Well I guess it's time for a long over due update.

The 48 made the SEMA show in the final hour. We then took it to Scottsdale and Del Mar for the Goodguys events. We got a Truck of the Year Finalist for 2012 award at Del Mar over Thanksgiving weekend.

There is quite a few updates in the build thread here.
https://lateral-g.net/forums/show...ight=ironworks

We have been keeping a 1962 Bubbletop project somewhat quite for a little while. Build thread coming soon. It will be the first car to get one of our 58-64 Impala chassis's. It is getting the Big Magnuson Supercharger on top of an LSX-376 with a Wegner front drive system. It will have a paddle shifted 4L80 trans. We are working on a rendering and so on right now. Here are a few sneak pics of the build. Trust me when I say it will be cool. Trust me when I say these are not the wheels for the car. We think we have found the perfect wheel from HRE.

Nothing like a sweet blower and some Katech valve covers
http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...Oct2011349.jpg

The back end of the 1960 Ford truck has really come together well.
http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...v2011007-1.jpg
http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...v2011010-1.jpg

The bed corner cabinets are working out well. The front 2 are ice chests with laser cut beer bottle racks.
http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...Dec2011005.jpg

The 1960 Ford should be going to Palmer's Customs for some paint and body work in the next few weeks. We are trying to meet an end of April deadline on this project.

We have started work on a pretty basic little 1934 Ford fiberglass car. The customer had the body and chassis. We are about ready for Paint and body on the Cognito Motorsports 1956 Chevy. The 1955 Chevy is coming along and might see paint and body this summer.
