Well another round of pictures came in with more progress and my mock intake showed up today from RCI so we can complete the cold side now.
http://i.imgur.com/qi2oekY.jpg http://i.imgur.com/MqiCYSb.jpg This is the opposite color of what i got. I got raw runners and black top. http://i.imgur.com/F1AtsWD.jpg http://i.imgur.com/Tudy3fY.jpg http://i.imgur.com/aDQwGpv.jpg http://i.imgur.com/TC0n9Vu.jpg William |
Kevin and the guys at M2K got the charge pipe made and made absolutely sure it's level and symmetric! Cant express how happy I am with the work they're doing on this car!
http://i.imgur.com/JZlKqSQ.jpg Even side to side! http://i.imgur.com/cLF0Y6T.jpg http://i.imgur.com/zvNwp1L.jpg http://i.imgur.com/RKN5ypR.jpg Looks amazing! http://i.imgur.com/10JZVoM.jpg http://i.imgur.com/OxUFHzQ.jpg http://i.imgur.com/XDnoa4N.jpg William |
Sweet...
:G-Dub:
Wow it's looking great. Quite an art project that you got going on with lots of nice jewelery... :king: |

That's how i've felt lately except my smile isn't as big when the money starts flying. |
Turbo kit is so badass. M2K is doing a great job, as expected. Can't wait to see you crest 200 mph in this bad boy.

We'll see about cresting 200mph. It'll be a little bit but it'll have the power to push it there! William |
That looks nice in there, I love seeing an engine bay with the turbo tubing.

Downpipe Updates. M2K knows fab work pretty damn well.
Pics: Driver side downpipe http://i.imgur.com/Ei9xHWD.jpg Driver side downpipe in the car http://i.imgur.com/E1DRmtO.jpg?1 http://i.imgur.com/IAxwWqB.jpg?1 Looks a little closer to the steering shaft http://i.imgur.com/iHKXCYZ.jpg?1 Top view of Driver side downpipe http://i.imgur.com/FAWWUvT.jpg?1 But he said plenty of room and took a pic showing that http://i.imgur.com/lqkXQpq.jpg?1 Passenger side downpipe http://i.imgur.com/U8ExF9J.jpg Passenger side downpipe in the car http://i.imgur.com/ot3DA3f.jpg?1 Plenty of room for the starter http://i.imgur.com/BQDBqEX.jpg?1 Completed downpipes http://i.imgur.com/0IqW8oO.jpg http://i.imgur.com/pWsiSle.jpg Sadly for the BOV, i cant put it where I really wanted it. I wanted it on the end of the charge pipe to mimic the WG placement. I also cant put them in the middle as there isn't room between the charge pipe and the radiator... I just told them to put it where they thought it would look best. We'll see how it turns out! Part two of the downpipes. Passenger side getting knocked out. http://i.imgur.com/VQvonu5.jpg Bracket made to hold the downpipe. http://i.imgur.com/xEt6AMT.jpg?1 I think the fit to the floor is quite nice. http://i.imgur.com/nRYlYeO.jpg And they did a great job centering it with the trans member pass through locations. http://i.imgur.com/bCyllrV.jpg?1 |
awesome car dude!! great job keeping at it and constantly making progress.
|
Thanks. Can't wait to get it home and finish it. M2K Motorsports is killing it on the turbo kit. Couldn't be happier.
|
Updated pics.
Both downpipes completed. http://i.imgur.com/y0YXcwz.jpg http://i.imgur.com/lQ1nTey.jpg Wastegate piping started. http://i.imgur.com/JO8Vap4.jpg Overall view showing wastegate piping and BOV placement. http://i.imgur.com/RqZ5unr.jpg http://i.imgur.com/K6IfZKh.jpg William |
Are you going to atmospherically vent your WG? I keep going back and forth with mine.
|
M2k did an amazing job,it looks so clean.

Very nicely done!

Thanks. I'll pass the word along. I can't take credit for the kit.
|
Very nice!
|
beautiful build. where are those hood vents from you plan to use?

Anvil

Wastegate re-circulation piping is completed.
http://i.imgur.com/K2GneWt.jpg http://i.imgur.com/9h3eo8Q.jpg Completed down pipe sections with the wastegate re-circulation tie in. http://i.imgur.com/5cVubjs.jpg He went to building the exhaust and made me an x-pipe and welded in the vibrant resonators to try and kill a little more sound/drone than the turbos will. http://i.imgur.com/OPgUbl2.jpg http://i.imgur.com/Yf3beAH.jpg http://i.imgur.com/YWmtaxo.jpg System installed in the car. http://i.imgur.com/vnUHm6x.jpg http://i.imgur.com/FmZzokN.jpg Very happy with how far up he has the exhaust tucked under the car. The car is as low as it would ever be right now. It'll be coming up prob 1" or so do be at "driving" level. http://i.imgur.com/DWvpFB9.jpg http://i.imgur.com/wQrY1Pw.jpg William |
It's got a bit left yet but it's slowly shaping up.
Few updates. Wastegate dump is done. http://i.imgur.com/Jp74tLS.jpg Fabricated the close outs for the filters in the fender. http://i.imgur.com/gLeMNZB.jpg Passenger side installed. http://i.imgur.com/3ujNVSs.jpg Drivers side installed. http://i.imgur.com/BOp5ENT.jpg And this is the start of where the filter will be. This is just behind the headlight. Should be plenty of fresh air in there. http://i.imgur.com/V8anP83.jpg Hoping for more progress soon. Should be competing the kit early next week. |
I made a set of those fender close out panels also. Couldn't believe how simple they were. Maybe if i can figure out a way to scan the template Ill post for everyone else to make. Mine uses the little hole in the fender and secured on the bottom.
Let me know what trim you might put around the edge of it to stop them from rattling on the inner fender |
Nice! Oddly I was just talking to a couple guys about this over the weekend.

Yea GAP racing has made some for stock style core support and attaches at the top. They look excellent. I'll let you know what I end up using for trim if necessary.

Update, intake is on and hardlines going in. Car should be done and ready to be picked up today.
Holley boost control solenoid and MAP sensor/IAT/etc installed below intake. http://i.imgur.com/0ax6bhZ.jpg BOV hardlines run to tapped port on intake http://i.imgur.com/25oEWqg.jpg BOV and WG lines hardlines in car http://i.imgur.com/x7s3AyG.jpg http://i.imgur.com/fGg1wh2.jpg Some added flair for the WG vent http://i.imgur.com/5byRLIS.jpg William |
Car is done at M2K, turbo kit finished.
Filter placement is exactly like I pictured it in my head. http://i.imgur.com/MMUO87u.jpg http://i.imgur.com/m4cn4af.jpg And did a clearance check on driveshaft to x-pipe. Looks like it'll have to jump the car to get it contact between the two. http://i.imgur.com/yYhwcCh.jpg?1 |
|
Built the "DSE" cribs. Did 16x16 and stacked 8. Carpet on bottom to protect my nice floors.

Sadly the paint job wasn't great to begin with. Long story that I'm trying to forget. It's got a few nicks on the way. I'll have it touched up once complete.
A full paint job I'm sure is in this cars future. I plan to beat on the car a bit first. |
Very nice turbo setup
|
Great looking ride man. I have been watching this one on Instagram as well.
I may have overlooked it but how much boost and what kind of power levels you going for? |

Power. We'll see what it takes but I figure on kill 20+psi and 11-1200. Pump gas should be around 15 and 1000. |
I got a little done and car is "progressing" as best it can. Decided to say screw it and get the firewall finished so some deconstruction was involved.
How the car started out. As you can see firewall above brake reservoirs is questionable... http://i.imgur.com/qpIi5Gj.jpg Started the teardown and pulled the turbo kit off completely. http://i.imgur.com/7ICkY98.jpg http://i.imgur.com/KAUb8dH.jpg With the turbo kit out of the way, the core support was pulled and the motor/transmission was pulled as a single unit. http://i.imgur.com/AUVlHFr.jpg Had some expert help that day with the twins (Big Bronco and Hellraiser) http://i.imgur.com/SMSCClg.jpg Even had a supervisor. http://i.imgur.com/XG8hmhZ.jpg Fenders removed and car put back on the ground to be sent to paint shop to have firewall finished/fixed. http://i.imgur.com/pCWvFdI.jpg http://i.imgur.com/aMeareb.jpg Painter already did all the work to the car (since last Sunday). He gave me a deadline of this upcoming Sunday 1/10 to be finished (so i figured a good month there). http://i.imgur.com/CAs2kyc.jpg http://i.imgur.com/DklVJ9l.jpg http://i.imgur.com/HSCItl8.jpg New valence to replace my damaged one the first painter didn't fix. http://i.imgur.com/xNGVmAn.jpg Firewall finished http://i.imgur.com/lmu4oMW.jpg Car has mirrors mounted on it also (didn't send a pic but sent video). William |
Got some parts in for the car like the new latches, etc and got my RFID key setup in.
http://i.imgur.com/V9wg0KA.jpg http://i.imgur.com/cVdMVFn.jpg Key fob is small... http://i.imgur.com/JpjzXsM.jpg http://i.imgur.com/uWEG1v4.jpg Wiring is my daunting task next. I have a new DSE dash coming and a racepak and looking at mil spec (deutsch) connector options. Well...That was faster than expected. Painter had the car 3 days... http://i.imgur.com/yF6WrYH.jpg http://i.imgur.com/n7P6oe2.jpg http://i.imgur.com/HhDLqlr.jpg http://i.imgur.com/uYabx0z.jpg http://i.imgur.com/ZS1wb0s.jpg William |
Had some help yesterday while swapping oil pans and test fitting in the car before modifying it with turbo drains.
http://i.imgur.com/t893Zez.jpg Took some doing solo to get the motor in and NOT touch the firewall... http://i.imgur.com/v4zZyPo.jpg PLENTY of room in there now! http://i.imgur.com/VTuGL93.jpg http://i.imgur.com/qkNVs5l.jpg Motor back out and waiting to be put on a stand so I can get the pan installed properly and do some checks (pushrods) and start the wiring. http://i.imgur.com/gYgcBAi.jpg Car looks good standing still even without a front end on it (mirrors installed). http://i.imgur.com/IafTJoh.jpg William |
Looking Great Will!
You have to be happy about the quick turn around on the firewall. |
