Keeping it simple - no fancy exhaust hangers

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...a547eb2-me.jpg

The goal was to use as much of the Edelbrock kit as possible. I think the guys did a great job at that. In the end I have a custom exhaust at a 1/3 the price of a complete one-off exhaust.

Looks great. Those 4-links w/the angled upper links are hard too fit the exhaust around. The fit up is spot on.

Some good-looking shorties. Gets rid of the low hanging collector problem!

Spent most of my teenage years, lying on a cold wet driveway replacing collector gaskets on a second-gen.... ahhh, the memories.

Thank you

The goal is to use as many bolt on parts as possible. In the case of the exahust we used and existing 2nd gen kit and made it fit better. This set up is about 1/4 the cost building a complete custom exahust including headers

2nd Chance Camaro - Flaming River Steering Shaft

2012 11-15 Update - Flaming River Steering Shaft
www.2ndchancecamaro.com

Afternoon All

The stock steering shaft was ugly and I couldn't stand looking it. So a quick call to the guys are Flaming
Rivers and the new Stainless Steel steering shaft & universal joints were on the way. I know I could have
bought it direct from Summit Racing but they didn't have the lower universal in stock.

And yes I have a new rebuilt stock steering column sitting in a box.

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...9644eb8-me.jpg

I put the Universal joints on both ends. Slipped the shaft into the gear box side and marked the shaft
were it needed to be cut.

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...6f94e13-me.jpg

Little more then an inch needs to come off.

2nd Chance Camaro - LS1 is heading to Wegner Automotive

2012 11-19 Update - LS1 is heading to Wegner Automotive
www.2ndchancecamaro.com

Morning All,

It's time to get the motor out of the car and shipped up to Wegner Automotive. I have only heard good things about them. They are a full
service shop and they have some really nice Front Drive Set Ups.

www.wegnerautomotive.com

The goal was to get the motor out of the car and back to my office by the morning so I could ship it out right away.

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...dc435fa-me.jpg

90 Minutes later the front clip is off and the motor is out.

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...34eba40-me.jpg

I went it early to pull all of the Motor parts off the shelf and I realized it looks like I have everything that Edelbrock offers for the LS1.

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...70c0605-me.jpg

Yes it's a Carb intake for an LS1 and yes it's made in the USA !!!

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...53d4c6a-me.jpg

LS1 Coil Covers - wait till you see what we have planned for these

Thank you and I am feeling much better only 7 weeks of Chemo left.

For a trans we are going to use a 700r4

I can't wait to see you version of the bike rack.

There used to be a deck lid luggage rack and that I thought about using but I was unable to find one or even a picture of one.

My hatred for TTII style wheels (AR's, Foose, etc) is matched by my enthusiasm for wheels like that with a vintage Trans Am racing look. I can't explain it, but those wheels look great.
Also, I like the first lugs.

WSSix 11-25-2012 12:37 PM

450 hp with those parts is going to be easy. Is Wegner planning to port the heads any more?

Lug nuts; I like both. I'd have to wait and see what color the car is to know if the black lugs would look correct. However, the style of having a long lug that's sticking out of the rim a little is good. Keep the studs out there as well. That's how I have the studs on my TA and to me, it looks good. More classic and race oriented.

Rick D 11-25-2012 01:53 PM

Looking great Marty :unibrow: Cant wait to see how the motor turns out! Glade your feeling good  7 weeks to go wow!

waynieZ 11-25-2012 02:44 PM

The wheels look great on there, nice choice.

nope leaving everything out of the box stock. No extra money spent this project,

I agree the black lugs look the best.

BBC71Nova 11-25-2012 08:39 PM

Very nice. Love the wheels.

I'm thinking if my current project doesn't kill me, my next one might be a 2nd gen.

GrabberGT 11-26-2012 08:29 AM

I have the same black lug nuts. I started to run them but did not have the longer studs. I felt uncomfortable running aluminum lugs with only half the thread engagement. I'll be getting long studs soon enough. What length are yours?

The studs I ordered were ARP-100-7704 (( 3.470 in )).

ps - the aluminun nuts have me worried also.

aps63 11-27-2012 09:07 PM

I'm using the same black lug nutz in the first picture. It's a small thing, but I like the cross hatch on the end. It's trick looking and makes starting them by hand easier when your in a hurry.

Richio1 11-27-2012 09:14 PM

Like the black better too.

I am sure if you build it they will come or at least I will. I think you should start with the red vette first.

2nd Chance Camaro - Rocky Mount Bike Rack

2012 12-17 Update - Rocky Mount Bike Rack
www.2ndchancecamaro.com

Good Afternoon All,

I spent a lot of time searching for the right bike tray. After attending Crank Worx MTB Festival in Colorado in 2011 I stumbled across
Rocky Mounts. The have one of the nicest fork mount bike tray in the industry. When I received the tray I knew I had choosen the right tray.

Below are couple pictures of my new Mountain Bike Hauler.

We took this picture when the car was at BBT Fab. Troy had just finished making the rocker extenstions, front spoiler & panel gaping.
This was the first time that we were able to really see how cool the car looked with the bike on the side.

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...63ed475-me.jpg

A couple people have asked what the car looks like with a bike on the side of the car. So I figured it was time to post some pictures
of the car with a couple different bikes on the side of the car. So far 2 girls thought it was weird and one guy made a comment but I am
not really sure if he likes it or not. The good news is the customer (me) really likes it.

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...af36e67-me.jpg

We still need to figure out the front tire mount. We may just put it in the trunk or make a side mount similar to what was on the Lotus
that I copied the idea from.

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...b62035c-me.jpg

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...83ab217-me.jpg

Sorry, I just like this picture. The car on the rack is the what I drove home from Sema 2010 instead of driving Syborg home. I'm pretty
sure it got better gas mileage then the truck would have gotten. I still miss the truck, but I am having fun building another car with
Kenny and I am looking forward to doing our next project (72 Cuda /Roadster Shop Chassis ) together once we finish 2nd Chance.

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...deeefec-me.jpg

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...7434a52-me.jpg

My Buddy Mike was kind enough to lend me his Ti mountain bike for this pictures. It looks pretty good in my Opinion. I might need
to build a Titanium bike so it matches the SS Tiger cage from Ride Tech.

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...84efb8f-me.jpg

Nice parting shot.
