Personally I'd like to see a return to gravity fed fueling systems -- so build a fuel tank using the cowl area like a Model A...
Scott volunteered to weld on it after we have test filled it with a half gallon of 110 octane and pressurized pure oxygen. |

I figure I better get an update on Greg's soon to be forgotten project before he gets swept under the mat as a Big Shot of days gone by. We have been working on finishing up the bottom of the car from all the floor and wheel tub work we did. We are test fitting a completed chassis prototype. We now have a ride height about 2" lower in the rear then an air bagged X frame car. You have to cut the floor just a bit more, But what is a bit more work when your getting 2"s closer to old mother earth on 21" wheels none the less. 15-20% of the floor is better then all of the floor to achieve this ride height.
So that dash is now one piece, we are getting ready to begin layout work to build the billet parts. The sqaure holes and recess are just mock up for the billet insert for the dash. http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...20top/0032.jpg http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...20top/0042.jpg We have been collecting these "cheap" separate speakers to go with these "no name" "Macintosh" Amplifiers that Greg found at a yard sale when his big benz got a flat after he got off on the wrong exit looking for chinese food in South Seattle. He had to buy them or risk getting beat up by a bunch of Gangsters. http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...20top/0022.jpg http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...20top/0012.jpg I have to figure out how to hide 4 of those big ass Hertz crossovers in the car. Good thing it's a Bubbletop and not a 32. We are getting the car ready to digitally scan the front end once we get it on the proper chassis for final. http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...Jan2012063.jpg We have been entertaining quite a few taillight ideas and we really think this is the direction for a bezel. I have a few more slices and dices to make but think this is a good direction. http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...ght-rev-F1.jpg We had to cut out the windshield wiper motor mount to rotate the engine back behind the firewall and to get it out of the way of the electric gas pedal. The Electric pedal is sure a cool modification for a car thats gonna see some miles as you can move the pedals back and keep someone away from the steering wheel and allow multiple drivers. http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...Jan2012064.jpg More to come. |
Where's my amps??
I bargained those bad boys down from $7.50 to $5.00 and in the process almost got in a fight with the 300 lb wife who is her husbands first cousin... but thought they were worth it. I have a bunch of product on order from Prodigy Customs which should be pretty cool... although it's been on order for a couple years now. It will make this car ride 2" BELOW street level and will blast it to the moon in less that 60 seconds... :unibrow: With a small suspension change it will literally corner like it's on rails. |
Those subs are going to be badass to be sure dude!!!

Tracy said he was one board with this stereo system....

As long as you are running Macintosh amplifiers and Hertz speakers, don't compromise by running passive crossovers. Running the crossovers digitally inside the head unit or post processor and then providing an amplifier for each driver pair ie running fully active is the biggest step towards sound quality you can make after speaker selection and installation location/solidity.
It will provide a dramatic improvement in tonality and cleanliness, as well as allow you to properly tune the system. I mean, if you're serious about sound quality and not just f'in around :) (I will note that there are a few very high end car audiophiles who still believe passive x-overs can create the warmest sound, but they are like the guys who still pray to vinyl and have $10k needle cartridges, and their crossovers are as big as a monopoly board). |
