Cool car. Mark the bar you set is pretty high for 1st gen camaro's. It is going to be cool to see if this car can win that gunfight. Going to be a fun journey. Like the color.

Roberts68 09-12-2012 08:49 PM

I think it was Sonar Chief who first commented on noticing it but it sure would appear that you have removed the trunk divider/rear package tray and are moving forward, leaving it out by this point.

I suppose it is rather insignificant but will there be any divider modular or otherwise?

Part of the "race diet" or is there more engineering to the decision?

Ron in SoCal 09-12-2012 09:14 PM

What, no magnetic shocks? :D

Seriously Mark the car looks great! What are you doing for the rear trans mount? I'll be at Optima rooting for you...

Vince@Meanstreets 09-12-2012 09:27 PM

very clean.

Sieg 09-12-2012 09:34 PM

Hmmm, no wing on the back of this monster?

fleet 09-13-2012 10:25 AM

Yeah Mark, I guess OUSCI is a big deal (if yer into that kinda thing...lol), but the lat-g feature of the month club has been a no-fly zone for too long and needs this one ... badd! :unibrow:

I noticed that as well when the car was at Joe and Paul's shop. They said that there is added structure to the seat mount area for the trans mount. That is why the trans mount doesn't need to be mounted to the frame rails. I hope that is correct. Maybe Mark can give more details.

waynieZ 09-13-2012 10:58 AM

Awesome progress in a short time. I can't wait to see the performance out of this one.

WSSix 09-13-2012 04:30 PM

Fourth gen fbodies have a similar trans mount. It's not an entire member like on a 1st or 2nd gen.

Looking great Mark!

Always a good idea to carry some 'style point chips' when your in Vegas. :unibrow:

The stripe really adds alot to the overall look.

hey had to ask what is your avatar all about, is that the date obama converted from a muslim to a god fearing christian? lol thx, rm

NO .... the date Dec 25,1983 was the date that I earned my Dolphins and the CO pinned them on my chest, and I had the old style dolphins tattooed on my forearm .... 28years later!

Wikipedia actually has a nice write up from the beginning a NUB to being qualified submarines, good read!

Thanks for asking.

Wondering if we'll see much more. There's an unveil next week at Formula 43 if I'm not mistaken. F43 has a new wheel debuting as well. Can't wait to check that out too.

clill 09-28-2012 05:07 PM

Flash68 09-30-2012 11:29 AM

I may have missed it, Mark, but what rear gear are you running with this one? I believe you had 3.25 with Red Devil.

Not when you have 800+ ft lbs at dang near off idle. That's called torque management.

In laymans' terms Dave, would you say that is so that Mayhem and Red Devil don't just fry the tires at will like the car is on a frozen lake? Wait... did that Minnesota analogy get lost on some?:P

clill 09-30-2012 05:42 PM

It runs !!!!!!

NovaBlue71 09-30-2012 05:50 PM

Cool, but where's the video? I had to ask before someone else did.

Sorry guys for no updates, we have pulled a bunch of all nighters to get the car running. It sounds great. I love LS engines. Brian Thomson and Dave Mikels gave me a engine and calibration that when I hit the key it rolled over about 1/2 a revolution and fired up. Ryan Kuhlenbeck's wiring was flawless so we power it up and did some trouble shooting and found a ground wire I missed then it fired up.

Matt and the guys from Sled Alley have done some 24 hour days to get it done. The car looks killer.

My buddy Tom Gardner help me all weekend finish up the wring so that is all done.

The car will be running and driving this Friday at the Formula 43 Wheel open house in Livonia, MI.

We are going to break it in this weekend and take it to Gingerman for a shake down Oct 13 - 14.

I will post some pictures of the Formula 43 open house.

This project has been a huge team effort. I hope is performs well at the track for the test.

Mark
