Thanks for noticing that! I had to go back and look at the pics and you're right on! I don't know where the car is. I just trust Roy to pick the shop - what do I know!?!

I can't wait for January so I can see the car for the first time!!

camcojb 10-19-2013 08:33 AM

That's a great car Greg. How nice it must be to deal with a company like Brizio.

A completely 180* experience from dealing with the last bozo AKA: Steve Frisbee.

I told Roy I didn't even need to approve a paint sample -- I figured if it was good enough for him - it's good enough for me. But of course they sent one anyway!

SAR only suggested "mods" that cost a ton of money and don't really add value. While they're nice - unless you really walk around the car and think about them - they don't "add". They double the cost of the project... in time and money.

Roy just puts his head down and rocks it... there's nothing special about the build whatsoever (my choice!) -- but I'll guarantee that if the '33 and the '32 are parked side by side... people would be all over the '33 and never notice the '32.

Its in good hands:

Greg a car as nice as what you are building any color would be OK,very nice build.:trophy-1302:

jimbo 10-19-2013 09:51 AM

Darryl Hollenbeck's Vintage Color Studio is top notch.

What color is the frame going to be?

GregWeld 10-19-2013 09:54 AM

Really hard to shoot this color and such a small panel -- if there's light on it, it just washes out... and I was just using my iPhone. Since the upholstery will be red - I thought that would give it a good vibe.... LOL

It's funny -- I've told Roy -- there's more pics of the project on Instagram etc than there are on his own website -- I have to go out to the internet to see what's the latest on my own project! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Matt@BOS 10-19-2013 10:02 AM

Greg, does the color look a little bit like this in the light?

Yeah yeah yeah..... :D

It's a driver (as are all the Briz's builds!).... but he does have a way of makin' 'em pretty decent little hot rods.

It'll be body color since it's exposed. At least I think that's the plan?!?!

No not at all.....

It's a very dark blue - almost black.

Ah, Gotcha. It is always difficult to photograph paint colors. That blue 356 I linked to can look Navy blue without lots of bright and harsh indoor lighting, on an overcast day.

Anyway, A red interior should look good. I have a soft spot for red interiors, but never pick a paint color that pairs well.

Matt there are some really high quality pics back in the thread of the color. :lmao:

GW did Brizio end up matching the paint off the paint chip from the owner of 27?

I said it befor and will again this 33 will be perfect, on the outside.

GregWeld 10-19-2013 04:36 PM

Yes Rob, the owner of the '27 went to the effort to pull a panel and sent it to Roy for color matching. Roy knew who painted the car and thought he could get the code but apparently they didn't have it. It was above the call of duty for the owner to put himself out there for us. Kudos to him!

I promised Roy I would never open the hood in public.

waynieZ 10-19-2013 09:46 PM

That owner's picture should be in the dictionary next to the definition of Hot Rodder .

I have finally been drug (kicking and screaming) into an "Instagram" account... and I can or I should say I have been ALLOWED to follow Vintage Color Studios -- and they had pics yesterday and said it's in "final primer". Hope that means there will be pics with color sometime soon.

Most people have their Facebook account and Instagram accounts linked when they post on IG it also goes to FB. So no need to double dip to see the same pics. Except on FB you can save the pics to your hard drive.

I can barely post quotes on here! I don't have time for all this SOCIAL MEDIA crap.... I have TWO track cars to prep - a wife to cook for and make sure she gets to and from the airport lest she miss one of here world travels....

Oh wait! I forgot -- you now have Baby Georgia --- so you won't have time or care to post anything but baby pics. My first binky - my first months birthday - sounds of my first fart - my first smile - my first pants - my first three hairs - my.... well you get my point.

The only way I could "get" the pics was to take a screen shot of my phone with the Instagram pics posted -- sorry for the weirdness.
