Yes.

Although the name pre-dates the caliber.

He's too busy trying to read the 750 texts plugging up his phone to be bothered posting progress pics.....

I got derailed... How's the beast Camaro going?

Payton King 09-29-2014 07:21 AM

I have been pretty slack lately...I spend most of my free time trying to clear out all of the texts coming into my phone.

I will try and do a big update this week. Front clip has been cut off and moved back. Cut out the firewall and tunnel to move the engine back. Going to run the oil pump on the right side, so we are in the process of making a new motor plate.

Things should start moving quickly.

So I have a plan. I now have three of these.... and when I get SEVEN... I'm going to hunt them down and use their phones for practice. SEMA might be a good place to start... :headspin: :guns: :warning:

I'll be watching!

Payton King 11-20-2014 06:23 AM

I guess that I have waited long enough

and have been called out more than a few times. In this soap opera that I call a car build, it was discovered that the wheel base was 3 inches too long. Time to roll the car out of the garage and get it to someone that actually has a brain and a boat load of talent. Jim Pettigrew to the rescue!

Let the games begin

First We had to get the car up in the air and level and Jim made a jig for the front. I am glazing over this, but great care was taking to insure the car was perfectly level, secure where it would not move and referenced on the floor in case it did move that we woulld see it and could move it back to the correct position.

Don't people just L O V E paying a "pro" shop (like Jakes) to mess up their cars... and then pay a new pro shop to rebuild it correctly!?!?!?!

You wonder why people go "postal"....

Any idea how Jakes managed to build your chassis 3" too long??? WTF! BTW this is not the first "issue" I've heard of with this particular shop.

syborg tt 11-20-2014 07:27 AM

Man I wish mine would get 3" longer when it gets excited.

On a side note this really sucks and I feel for you.

Payton King 11-20-2014 07:40 AM

I contacted Jake on the matter. He stated that he would pay $2000 to have the front corrected. It has been 3 months since that conversation and I have yet to see a check. I guess we will see if he is a man of his word.

Holding your breath?? Might get you Blu Balz..... LOL

Beach Cruiser 11-20-2014 07:54 AM

Plumb bobs and tape on the floor for the win! Looks just like how I built mine! I had it out of the garage the other day and the tape is still there! Thanks for posting some progress

ole school never hurt anyone. Its funny, saw-z-alls usually make things better, till they grab hold and the handle turns into a face smashing device.

looking good payton.

Ummgawa 11-20-2014 11:57 AM

Payton

If it's any consolation, I could have screwed your car up a whole lot more for less than half of what you paid...

Sorry man, really sux.

Stovebolter 11-20-2014 12:24 PM

Sorry for your troubles Payton. At least it's going the right direction now.

David

WSSix 11-20-2014 04:29 PM

Glad to see correct progress being made on the car, Payton. Who is Jim Pettigrew anyway or what is his background I should ask?

Penny 11-20-2014 09:33 PM

Wow the difference in the spindle angle is a dead giveaway. Hope the check comes!

waynieZ 11-20-2014 10:09 PM

Payton I'm glad to see it getting fixed. You couldn't miss it but the two pictures together really show it .

GregWeld 11-21-2014 06:24 AM

I love watching a good old fashioned A/FX build.....

Have Jake include plenty of decals you can run on the car when he sends you that check.

OLDFLM 11-21-2014 06:43 AM

Sorry you're going through this Payton... but glad you're committed to finishing the project! It'll be worth it in the end! When you're driving the car and just can't stop smiling!

Welcome the the "Committed Club"! :welcome3: :gitrdun:
