I have tried a few different ways of doing it. This is not easy. I knew someone would eventually ask the question so here are a few photos. To get it to fit in the housing is a lot of trial and error.

Thanks, I will play around and copy that, like trial and error. In the 80's I tied off the manual cable inside the door and it worked but I want to do a little better now.

I might be remembering wrong, but wasn't there a C3 power version?

They bolt on with studs (more solid) and have a slightly longer neck.

Mark, are these mirrors direct replacement for 68-69 camaro mirrors?

Define direct replacement. It is not a direct replacement. Some assembly required.

Thanks for the reply. I mean if the base of the G Body mirror and the stud spacing match with the 68 camaro mirror base, so there is no need to drill holes at different locations to fix the G Body mirror.

Yes you need to drill two holes and sort out what to do with the remote mirror control on the drivers side.

My full old man exhaust system. I’m tired of loud cars. I’m using a used set of 2018 Corvette Z06 LT4 catalytic converters and a AP muffler.

Hooker cast iron exhaust manifolds and 2.5 inch exhaust.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...177c7974bd.jpg

Looks great and has plenty of ground clearance. What resonators and mufflers are you using in that system?

OLDFLM 08-21-2024 09:49 AM

AP Mufflers?

Part numbers for the AP mufflers Mark?

Scubachef 08-21-2024 07:39 PM

Is the reason you are not using flex joints at the beginning of the pipe that it’s a cast iron manifold and not headers? or have you learned they are not required? Thank you

We were planning to use flex joints but did not have room. I’ve never used them but never had an issue.

Looks great Mark. What’s the clearance for on the pipe? Can you post a vid of it running.

It is a cruiser and I don’t want a tail pipe rattle. In hindsight we should have notched the trunk floor like the other builds. This is the first car in 20 years I have not done that. Now I remember why we cut the trunk floor for exhaust clearnce for cars with a Quadra Link DSE rear suspension.

If it is a problem we will cut the trunk floor and redo the tail pipes.

nice work fitting that without notching the trunk. Looks too good to hide under the car. I gave up and notched the trunk and used the notched tank.

Curious what sintered filters you are using on your tank and differential vents if you don't mind sharing.

dontlifttoshift 09-10-2024 01:13 PM

Looks like the ones from IImuch
