All hail the Jackass? -Russell |
This car is simply the most understated car built. Everything about it screams quietly at you.
The more I look at it the more I think back to the car that got me hooked ( the "Mule". Just incredible cool - nice work guy's |
Very nice.
I love the "old school" look with the new school technology, which isn't real apparent, until you get smoked by the car. lol:lol:  |
What a great build! :hail:
|
Normally i am not a fan of those style of wheels on these cars nor do I really like them w/o stripes but that car just looks so damn sinister it's scary...stance is absolutely spot-on.:hail:

love this car! The first time I saw a ZR1 I thought about how cool it would be to transfer its parts to a 69. Killer car

Very nice....the Mule is still my favorite of all that you have built.

I'll be a happy camper when we are headed down the road in it on Power Tour........

You gonna have it back home for a bit first, or just pick it up @ Power Tour '09?
I still have to come see your collection one of these days... |

Jackass is the penultimate PT car of today as was X. The combination is barely even available yet & it's done. All this in the anti-bling style I love.
It's built to be driven, not to win SMOTY. I'm sure Mark will get the suspension balance dialed to match what that car deserves. And you go with your yellow Charley! Quite the dreamy car there. I just wish I could get my car done but it's close to start now. Peter |

A video of it on the road would be excellent. I'm sure you have no shortage of volunteers Charley, that would help if you decide to.

Hot Rod Shoot
Working on JA today. Getting all the new car bugs sorted out. We shot it for a Hot Rod feature last weekend. Static shots and drifting shots.
Due to the fact the photos will be used in the Hot Rod story I'm not posting those photos them until after the mag comes out. I will try to get some other shots of the car outside when it stops raining. The LS9 is killer. On a 3rd gear stab it will ignite the tires. It idles at 650 RPM and make torque just off idle. The ride is good on the low profile ZR1 rubber even on crappy MI roads. Brake feel is very good with the ZR1 brakes. They still need one more bleed to get a little firmer pedal. The twin disk ZR-1 clutch is butter smooth on launch and the sytem effort seems just right. I have about 100 miles on the car now and just sorting it out prior to Power Tour. Well back to it. Mark |
Great info, thanks Mark for that healthy JA snack.
The JA crowd as you know... is a very hungry bunch. :unibrow: |
Jet Stream blue is an awesome color. Thats why I picked that color for my 69.

Jack Ass's First Car Show
We have a little cruse in here in Detroit on Sat. mornings. It is a 8 - 10 am deal so I took Charley's car. It was a lot of fun and the car was a big hit.
http://i439.photobucket.com/albums/q...5/DSC_2620.jpg http://i439.photobucket.com/albums/q...5/DSC_2621.jpg http://i439.photobucket.com/albums/q...5/DSC_2622.jpg Always a unique blend of cars. http://i439.photobucket.com/albums/q...5/DSC_2623.jpg |
At Stenods
After the car show I went to Stenods to keep sorting out JA.
http://i439.photobucket.com/albums/q...5/DSC_2625.jpg We bolted it down to the chassis dyno to verify all system (cooling, fuel pump, intercooler system) were all working correct. It was awsome. Joe put te dyno in drive simulation and we were able to work out all the drivability issues in the shop. Make quick tune ups and WOT runs with no speeding tickets. http://i439.photobucket.com/albums/q...5/DSC_2627.jpg http://i439.photobucket.com/albums/q...5/DSC_2629.jpg |
More integration
Well after about 70 hours of thrashing on JA over the last 6 days I took it out to cruise Woodward Saturday and Sunday night. I put over 200 miles on it and it is a kick to drive. The LS9 is awesome. Great drivability. Idles at 650 rpm. The instant torque is crazy. A guy in a hopped up 5.0 Mustang jumped me from a 30 mph roll. Naturally I hit JA. Not used to the instant torque I blew to tires off and the Mustang got a jump on me. Once I gained traction I blew by him with a lot of authority. The noise and tire smoke show got me a big thumps up...
