LS3 is the new 350. It's not a hard sell. The Speed33 we are working on is for a guy that bleeds Ford Blue. Here is the pitch, "lighter, faster, cheaper, doesn't leak, and do you want to look at it or drive it?" Done deal.

The car looks _really_ good, I hope you and your better half enjoy it.

In all seriousness, do you really think the judges didn't like the engine that much? From what I have seen here I think your car is stellar. I obviously wasn't there and didn't judge, but based on what I see in your car I would be curious to see what beat you. Of course we all know politics are at play.

To me just being a part of that event would be awesome enough. Plaques and trophies don;t matter much. But it can be frustrating for sure to see a lesser car win of another better build.

Here's my real take on it.... It's a very simple unassuming ordinary hot rod. I didn't build it for shows... so there's no trick fab... nothing that says "look at me" in a show car kind of way. So I think there's just nothing there that the judges thought was class winner material.

The '34 that won the class was super swoop -- big carbs busting out the hood - no hood sides... wild paint - big wheels.... a "show car". I thought it was hideous --- but hot rods are hot rods and as long as the owner loves it (as did the judges apparently) so be it.

Yeah it is great to have people give you kudos but in the end you did exactly what YOU wanted to do with it the and it turned out great...99% of us would give our left nut to drive that machine home

Thank you! I was thrilled with seeing it completed. It's way better in person than the pictures show. Brizio quality of fit and finish and detail is just superb.

I never win trophies.... have never cared about them. My favorite saying when people ask about trophies is --- Yeah - I got a trophy.... and I'm going to drive it home.


Sorry about your updated Camaro post. It's hard to gain any traction on these forums... and especially when you're relatively new (I see 81 posts). Many of us on here are long time friends -- none of us started out that way.... it happens over time -- and meeting up at various events... and grows... So just hang around - get to know people - leave good constructive comments on other folks threads - and eventually you'll get comments back as people recognize your name etc.

Trophy or not, that is a classy looking Rod. I went through a pro-touring elitist phase after I discovered the hobby, but after getting out and meeting some folks that build and enjoy their cars, I can appreciate anything with some effort put into it. The show cars look dated by the time they hit their second show. This car is classic, clean and would look great if it was built this way tomorrow, next year or thirty years from now. Thanks I will keep it in mind. You guys have been a lot of help on giving knowledge(even on the financial side) I appreciate it. I actually got beat at a show by a 77 4 door bonneville in Michigan. it hurt at the time but when I look back on it it was pretty cute, it was an older couple that had matching sweatshirts with their bonne on the front....I assumed they had lots of friends show up and vote.

The only thing I've ever gotten with my '32 Ford is the bill.... I could seriously care less. Although I do always wonder why nobody even turns their head to see the details... apparently they don't care. It's okay. Ya can't get everything right every time. I was happy my old '56 Nomad was the third highest bidding '56 Nomad BJ ever sold --- so that was a "trophy" right there. People paid up for my work. So life is good!
