A quick update on what I've been working on. Got the valve covers done today. They are stock style center bolt LS7 covers. the head, I believe is complete. A coat of primer should tell whether or not it is finished. I've also been working on a 1 piece racing seat. Something similar to a Recaro Profi. I'm on version 2.0 which is proving to be a little wide for the interior bucket. I'm thinking some custom door panels should take care of that. thats about it right now. I'll try and get some pictures up soon.

Alright. There was some tiger striping in the paint so I decided to repaint this beast. It is now sitting in a white base coat. Here are the paint choices I'm leaning towards.

Solid Color:

Sunset Orange pearl
Indigo

Stripes:

White w/ black or gunmetal hockey sticks
Black w/ gunmetal hockey sticks

I would really like some input on what you guys think so chime in and let me know

Hope you don't mind that I bumped the pics of this beautiful color up so those have forgotten or just joined us can better help you without having to go search. I say leave it Sunset Orange Pearl with NO stripes. Maaaybe a different stripe, but I'm not sure about the hockey stripes. I'll have to put my mind to work and see if there's anything I can come up with. What's the word on the wheels? I saw some that might work for you, but they'll run you a little cash! PM me for details.

Thanks for the bump. Man looking at those pictures I want to go back to the sunset pearl. Only problem is, I don't have enough left to re do the car. I've got it in black now. I think I might see if I can get some hockey stripe templates printed or drawn up and spray it to see what it looks like. I could go for an SS? Hood stripe I think someone has done the black/gunmetal like that. Keep in mind there will be a few more of these done with different wheel and drive train set ups. So there will be more chances for color. I think right now, due to lack of funds I'm leaning toward black/gunmetal.

As for the wheels. I've started casting the spokes and should have something to show late tomorrow I hope. They will look a lot like the wheels on penny, same color with an aluminum "hoop" or sleeve for the wheel

So you're planning on doing more than one of these? Maybe black with the Sunset Orange Pearl stripes then? I'd seriously try to keep it S.O.P. if ya could. We've seen quite a few black Camaros. I hope you can find the funds to go back to the orange, even though...once you go black. Hahaha. Can't wait to see the wheels too. Hell, I can't wait to see it all put together!

My thoughts if you're going to go black, do a "blackout", or all black. Possibly even gloss with satin black finish stripes or vice versa. You could do brushed silver just a couple areas for interest (ie. brake calipers). Do a search for "1/12 Ferrari F40 Lightweight". It's a bit of an expensive kitbash, but there you'll find pre made black wheels, calipers and rotors. Just an idea.

At this point I don't see an end to the financial difficulties in the near future. I need to sand out the black and add another cote then its on to the hockey stripes.

Here is how its being done. the ring is two peices of styrene laminated together that I cut with a circle cutter. the spokes: I created one spoke to my specs, then I poured a one piece mold. I had trouble with the initial pour because the resin wasn't able to flow to the lower part of the mold. So I used some southern enginuity and opened up the mold from the bottom into the area where the spoke forks to allow the resin to flow down. Thank goodness this worked
