Can I ask ........ What is the criteria for SMOY:question: I'm VERY interested to hear what it is... Not that I have a snowball's chance in h$ll of even thinking I could even come close to some of these builds!. I'm just another smuck building "ANOTHER 69 CAMARO''. I wanted to vent a little but whats the point. Until I understand the criteria I will say nothing

Hope you enjoyed the show in pics as much as I did in person. It was a really nice weekend. The icing on the cake was getting to see the Cuda - star of the show in my book. The JHR 32 is very stealthy. I was sitting on a bench watching people, looking at my pics, and surfing the 'net, when I happened to notice Alan walk up and open the trunk on a little black roadster! Then, I realized what roadster it was! Really nice car, really nice. I'm very impressed with his work, having seen the Duecenburg last year, then these two this year. Beside still being fresh, another thing that really stood out to me was the workmanship in the Cuda. It's holding up very well. I have seen higher budget cars, from well-known builders, that showed their age down the road. JHR's $h!t looks good then and now. No need for a real disclaimer but: Even though I have been hyping JHR and that Cuda all weekend, I have no formal connection, other than a series of internet and face-to-face conversations with Bob. He's been a major influence in my life/career, but my opinion of those cars and that shop are based on what's tangible. |
We all know every year theres a discussion on politics, who should have one, who knows who etc. Its just the nature of the game. I sure wish there was a SMOY/SROY peoples choice award. The picks would be more justified. However the judges IMO weren't too far off. Tucci's Nomad by all means should have been in the top 5, but I heard something that he couldn't get it out of the trailer in time. Well if you remember the past, Rad Rides also was late to the track and they still let the one of there cars go into the top 5. I thought the Roaster Shop 33 SR was a masterpiece and IMO was my top pick for SROY. The Scar camaro after seeing it in person was just too much for me although I appreciate the work that went into it. I would have let the Afterburner and the Roadster shop Challenger go at it for the top pick. But at the end of the day the 2 top cars there are the G force Cuda and the Roadster shop Vette which will both hold there own for years to come.
Also Congrats to Marty, truck turned out killer and it was great hanging with you through the weekend. And to one of our other members for also taking a subcategory award, Congrats Kenny Davis with his dad's Nomad, bitchin ride. |
Thanks for some really great pictures.
