Rendering - Yes
Sharp colors. Thought I read somewhere that you have to get Bentley paint from them. That being said, I tend towards reds myself. For stripes I prefer not to see the Z28 stripes anymore than I have to. There are to many cars out there badged as Z28's that are fake. Tribute/clone/whatever they end up looking ridiculous when nearly 80% of the cars I see have them. Back in the day there weren't that many Camaro's built by the factor, so it was a cool custom factory look.
How about something that starts on the front of the car, goes across the nose, then down the middle of the car to the rear wheel opening. Have it be two stripes (a gap between them at the front of the car (somewhat like Stielow's XV) but instead of down the center of the car you take them across and down the middle of the car. Possibly have the stripe down the side have breaks in the stripe like Steve Chrysos car. Use something that compliments your image for the car. Just some random thoughts, I'm sure you already have some great ideas of your own. Rod |

Curtis, you need to slow down. You will have the build done in record time:thumbsup:

Full speed ahead!! I have been helping Curtis gather parts and making a build & sell off list for quite a few months now ( even before he bought this car As he said, he is impatient and if I had the choice of having a shop open fulltime, it would be getting done faster, but correctly! As soon as it is Russ is done with the rear clip, then paint, all the rest of the mods and systems are going in it! I finished the engine build, T56 build is complete, we already sourced the vast majority of parts needed for plumbing, electrical and hydraulic systems Going to start on the Gen 5 console mods and 4 gauge pod shifter bezels ( going to do a few more than just the one for Curtis, like in my car, to sell to other members , now running a Gen 5 console like I am in my 68'. Interesting rendering
LOL - very patriotic - Red, White, and Blue
That's close to what I was trying to describe but I was thinking of a gap in the stripe in the center of the vehicle like M Stielow has on XV. That way it wouldn't look completely traditional. The some breaks in the striping down the center of the vehicle. Something to imply motion even when it's sitting still. But I wish I had an ounce of skill to draw like that. I just think silver is not the way to go, as to me it's been done to death IMO. Rod |
Paint it the color you want. This is an instance where opinions from others are of very little value.
I'd beat it up for a few years if it was mine. :D |
Hey Curtis!
Great to see you got a car and cruising right along at mach 0.80 !!! Looks like you have a sweet pile of parts there and keeping the :ups: man busy, thanks!!!! LOL As far as paint color that was probably the hardest decision I made with wheel style and finish next! Looks like your in some capable hands! Also off topic hear but, UPS is hiring pilots 40 to start and hearing might be headed up to 150! Also maybe up to 20 to 25 more 747's getting added to the fleet! I will give you a shout here in a day or two if your gonna be around. Chris |

Color choice
You're right that some colors have been done to death. Then there are color's like Matt's that are pretty rare. But I definitely agree with the sentiment that you should paint it the color you want. After all, you're the one that's going to have to live with it for years given the cost of a re-paint. I like that most everyone on here chose's a color that they like regardless of what others may think. And the color usually ends up looking great on the finished car. So yes, let the car tell you what it wants.

Curtis-
Glad to see you in another ride and very happy to see some of my former Vegas crew still active and helping. Jeff, Russ, and Todd have been a great help when I was there and I know it's nice to have the support. All the best. Tyler |
