Well, I have to agree with that... Todd, given the undeserved negative comments that you have dropped around the pro-touring and Camaro sites about your previous builder, it amazes me the class Nick has shown. His class and integrity are matched only by his skill as a builder (example pictured below).

BTW - and I agree, awesome looking car!

I'm not sure how you can comment on that since you were not involved in our discussions and agreements Jeff. I did see your car under construction and never had any problems with the quality. I also sat down with him and his family and had dinner. I'm a pretty good judge of charachter and felt very good about them. We have exchanged emails and both agree it was a lack of experience on both of our parts. The delays on your car and him moving into a shop with more overhead changed things. As far as any negativity, I have never publicly mentioned a shops name. I have thanked him for finding the car I ended up using for my build. There are no hard feelings between us. We are square in every way. Thank you for the comments about my car.

skatinjay27 03-14-2009 08:47 PM

i gotta get it on this and give my 2 cents...
did you really just join the board to stir some kind of drama in this thread and to post a pic of your or another car in his thread?

i must mention that i know todd on a personal level and have talked with him about the previous builder numerous times and even face to face just between me and him and he has never said anything malicious or negative about him or his shop. and has said many time to me that nick found him a GREAT car to start with.

i will say this though... payback would NOT be what it it today if todd didnt make the decision to pull it from that shop...not implying they werent up to par but bring the car to prodigy really seemed to give todd a second wind/ lite a big azz fire under his butt!

You all can say whatever you want! You guys are fun to hang out with and all but she is my best friend. She took time off from work to spoiled me rotten all weekend. I might be dumb, but I'm not stupid.

Oh and Aj Laurie wanted me to remind you that your purse is still in our garage along with your pink pumps and lip gloss.

I have to second what Aj said. Todd has never said anything negative about the previous builder...or anyone else for that matter. To date he has been an outstanding friend and a willing contributor to LG. He is always willing to lend a hand to anyone.

If your looking to stir the pot or sling mud...this isn't the place and your not welcome here. If you need tech help or would like to join in with good people and have some fun, by all means please stay. Lord knows there's enough B.S. in the world...don't bring it here.

Not a very high quality first post.

I really appreciate it guys...I thought about deleting the post but Jeff is passionate about Nick and I really can't fault him for that since I saw that in him as well. Circumstances just didn't play out in our favor. It happens in life and business. I'm good with it and so is Nick. We have both learned lessons that have benefited us both. That's all that matters really.

98ssnova 03-15-2009 01:30 AM

68 blackbeauty please know what you are talking about because we do not take BS from nobody and if you don't the whole story then don't post. With only 1 post i would be very cautious how you tread. MODS please warn this guy. DRAMA is not welcome here the only reason I surf here is no drama and I love the cars. Sorry Todd this is a time when you and your car should be in the spotlight.

Well since my name is now being thrown in here, I figured I'd set the record straight. Todd is right. As with any business, you don't get every job and circumstances somtimes arrise that can change things. I had a big move that changed everything for me in a good way, but ended up costing me a customer in the process. That hurt on a personal level. There are shops out there that treat all their customers like a customer with a "screw you" attitude. I'm not one of those shops. I like to think of my customers as part of the family and try to develop a personal relationship with each one that carries on long after the project is finished. I like Todd and I am very happy he has the car he always dreamed of building. I have spoken with Todd many times since we've met and he and I are totally cool with everything. I'm a car guy like all of us and it would have killed me if Todd lost interest in his build over changes on my end. Prodigy does totally awesome work as we've all seen. Todd and I have learned a lot since we've met and as I've said previously, his car is FRIGGEN AWESOME!!!.

I'm glad I was able to find him such a solid base to build on and will take him up on his offer for a ride when I get my butt out to Vegas.

awr68 03-15-2009 10:21 AM

Ok guys, as you can see there are no hard feelings on either side...lets move on!

Back to PAYBACK...the Killer ride that it is!! :lateral:

Sorry:lateral:

waynieZ 03-15-2009 12:25 PM

Todd the car turned out awesome no two ways about it. Time to enjoy it and show off all the hard work you put into it.
My daughter is a traveling nurse ,she works in San Diego. She's always after me to visit . Maybe it will happen and I'll get a chance to see Payback in person. Enjoy your car.
Wayne

Well I got my first ticket today! Second time I've been pulled over in the last 30 days.:_paranoid Luckily I got away with it the first time. Man I thought the old speedo speel would work everytime. I have a feeling I'll be collecting these. I barely touched the throttle and there he was.

Sorry, that was not directed to you, 68 blackbeauty was really pushing it and I guess I should have been more specific. Again sorry, you are an asset to this site and I agree with what you had to say to him!

Somehow the inner fender got all scratched to **** on the way here. Of course no steering was probably the cause.

The boys over at ATS have been treating me right. Here is the solution to my crossmember issues. They modified it with one of their T56 crossmember ends and moved the center bracket slightly. Of course it still needs painted. ATS is top notch. Highly recommend them.

I added fuel tonight to prime the fuel system and check for leaks. I had 4 leaks. Two at the carb bowls and the fitting on both sides of the pump. I used a pipe dope and the fuel ate right through it. Lucky me!! I had to disasemble all the fittings with the dope and replace it with tape. It's all fixed now but what a mother ######. The carb leaks were caused by a frankly crappy design. They used two gaskets with my high dollar fuel rail. I used the gaskets and tape and it's not leaking anytime soon.

Got a question for you, pm sent.

Agreed. Love my V1. Have it hardwired. Gotta get that as a minimum. Laser jammer is nice, however illegal in Calif. :willy:

I just wanted to play with my new camera.

Lately I noticed a little coolant on the front of the engine. Never enough to leave anthing on the ground. I traced it to the water pump weep hole. 2000 miles on my Edelbrock Victor Jr. water pump and it's starting to drip here and there. They won't warranty it since it's over a year. So I pressure checked the system in an attemp to make it leak and found a nice little surprise. The front drivers side water port on the intake also had an external leak at 12psi. Should have it back together this weekend. I love this stuff anyway.

Flash68 04-08-2009 12:39 PM

Todd, you need to start building hot rods out of your garage.

Git er dun.

Vegas69 04-08-2009 01:42 PM

Actually....I'm hoping to find a property on at least .5 acre in the next 2 years and build a real garage with a lift. I'll probably start doing some work on hot rods and pro touring cars for fun and a little extra denero for my toys. Right now I just don't have the space or neighborhood for the work.

You may even have some work from the people from Lateral-g.net!!
GOOD LUCK!:thumbsup::lateral:

waynieZ 04-08-2009 06:55 PM

That sounds good Todd. When I get my car on the trailer I'll bring my car and part to your house . The second 69 should be a breeze for you . Even easier its a small block lol .

Vegas69 04-18-2009 12:05 AM

The second would be much easier. Bring it on down Wayne.

I'll be over at Red Rock Harley Davidson with the car tomorrow from 10-3. They are having a car/bike show. Any locals feel free to stop by and say hey and give me a vote. They are also having some cash awards for a few categories and it's public choice which is cool. Spent a few hours detailing so it should look decent. More info:http://www.redrockharley.com/

waynieZ 04-18-2009 12:13 AM

Hi Todd How's the car coming? . I wanted to ask you, is that fuel pump setup noisy or does it vibrate ? It looks sweet but I hate a noisy pump. I might be using something like yours.
Wayne
