Its nice to see you pick this subframe. Ive been on the fence with it. Ive had PMs saying dont buy the Speedtech because its crap. I know this is a very nice build so Im now off the fence.

if i recall you said you really had no intensions of racing the car anyways in which why bother spend the extra money (unless its dispensible for you) on a more expensive SF. right? i personally felt that the stock was more than capable for your need but you sold it already lol |

AJ, the frame does have the G-Mod option built into it...but I will be using the stock UCA location with the tall AFX spindle. It weighs less than a stock frame, and allows for a wider wheel/tire package...and uses a Unisteer Rack. Hopefuly Blake chimes in with more info. This setup will work great for my needs and probably for many others here as well. |

As for the quality of the Speedtech Subframe, We have it in EmptyNest and I am very impressed with it. I had my choice of subframes, I wanted to try the Speedtech in one of our own cars and I am happy I did. As for performance, It has done pretty damn good. Here is a little video of the first and only pass I made at Run Through The Hills. Now keep in mind I had not walked the coarse (I got there real late, Hungover, Bill was pissed!). So being my first lap (only lap) I am being fairly conservitive, and still ran a 38.3, which was better then most first runs (minus pros). Listen to it, You don't even here tire scuffing except when I overdrive it into the corners on the second lap. She is a bit soft of the shock settings. No tuning, Nothing, just as I drove it in off the street. Long story short I am not even close to the edge yet.The score boards are posted at Pro Touring. Almost every combination was there. Other then the Pros I was right there with all the other cars that had 3 and 4 shots at the track. And Frank is no autocross driver! Now back to Tony's thread. http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u...h_MOV01020.jpg |

This may be a stupid question, but I'll ask anyway. What is the difference between stock, Speedtech, and the high end subframes? If the geometry on the speedtech subframe is the same as stock, then what would be the benefit of using it:question:

Now for someone like me, that is just going to go to car shows and maybe the occasional cruise, this sub frame would be great!!! If they were an inferior product, I'm sure we would heard about it by now. (And I haven't heard any complaints.) |

will fit up to a 20x10" wide wheel and a 285 tire.at a lowered ride height lighter weight. Gmod built in can use other tubular arms ( if you desire) we prefer you order the hi clearance arms air ride is a bolt in will fit BB SB or LS big 1.25" solid sway bar for use with hi clearance arms also fits any after market sway bar if not using the hi clearance arms. will fit any trans we have headers that fit with the rack and pinion steering as for the high end subs they are hi end, there really good, their more expensive. our sub concept was never to go head to head with DSE AME, it is a option for the guys who want to use aftermarket camaro components instead of mustang II parts. having said that all the testing we have done, the car handles awesome. Frank has beat his up pretty good and is happy with the performance. |
Thanks for answering my question, Blake.
|
I can't quite tell from the pictures but what is the bushing material in the control arms? I sure hope it's a Delrin bushing and not poly........other wise looks freakin' awesome.
Is it getting powder coated or painted? |
yes 100% Porosity free Acetrol delrin, the machining on them is done hi speed and more than one person has mistaken them, as most delrin is not machined as well.
|
Thanks for jumping in and answering the questions Blake!
Frank, killer vid! I love seeing these cars in motion!! It's good to hear that after a whole season you still like the Speedtech frame/suspension! |

We have been waiting on some stuff to come threw. So here's the plan with Tony's car. We have all these new parts for KARMA by the people on Lat-G to help out KARMA.
We are going to start with some tech for Camaro Performers since they have been a big part of this. It's going to cover full quarter install, power windows, glass install, front sub frame line up with front sheet metal, and complete prep and paint tech. So we are going to have to work on a couple different schedules. We should have the quarters and the rest of the parts by the end of next week. Then we will start project KRAMA |

I was looking forward to an article on how to install a LS9 twin Turbo.:woot:
