Time for an update..... the car is moving along... I just never get around to posting pix etc...
So.... after my original paint plan fell through, I searched long and hard in CA for someone to paint my car....someone I could trust...and someone I can afford. In CA the average shop rate is hovering around $75/hr, so add materials and there was basically no way I was going to get above average work for under $30k So after talking to a lot of shops, I decided to haul my car all the way to Mortensens Customs in Coer d'Alene ID....yes Idaho.... the same shop that painted Bob Braga's car...... It made me real nervous to have the car that far away from home, but even with the hassle of travel and the extra cost to get the car back and forth, the "bang for the buck" factor just made it the right choice....so off we went on a road trip... Ok...so the project has taken alittle longer than expected....so?...my kid has grown just a tad over that period...so? http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/e...I/IMG_5210.jpg March 2015 http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/e...pspcgtf4hj.jpg http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/e...psq8lgyevd.jpg |
Lower grill mesh I made...more aluminum fab and TIG work...getting better..

made the trip from CA to ID in about 20 hours....we stopped and got a hotel room after about 15.... just couldn't do the long haul with the wife and kids..
Car dropped off and turned over Brad and Jason... http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/e...ps9elwjort.jpg http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/e...ps8ooycmte.jpg http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/e...psgptxyilj.jpg |

That's awesome Ned! Bob's paint job looked top notch.
Congrats on the progress. Very exciting time in a build  |
Ned the car looks great and it has to feel really good to be this close to color.
btw - I love the new wheels. |
Glad to hear of the forward momentum with the car, Ned. Good luck picking a color.

I have always been partial to dark green metallic. Mine is WA9529... but I also like the new Limerock Green, which is an uncommon new color on the C7. I would describe mine as "Forest Green" where I would call the Limerock more a "Emerald Green".
But that is me, I like dark greens... |
Great Update, Ned!! I'm super excited and happy for you and your family! This is awesome! What colors are you thinking??
|
Cuda
Great to see another Badass Mopar about to hit the streets. cant wait to see it in paint that when you will get excited and get tons of work done.

Back from the dead......
yes. yes.. its taken me this long to build my car..... EVERYTHING took WAY longer than I had ever planned..... active kids and work taking up time... spreading out my budget etc etc.... So.... my question..... where and how do I post pictures now? Havent done this in so long.... used to host on Shutterfly and then link here... is that still a thing? Most of my pictures are on my phone, but I dont do much on this site via my phone... still visit mostly on my computer.... I'm now old and blind on the small screens... So I want to post update pix.... help me out |
Welcome back and the best way to do it is from your phone using the TapTalk app makes it very easy to make a post and upload pictures.
Especially from an iPhone Quote:
