that looks great Dave! I need to cruise over there next week, just to check out what's going on over there.

Nice....I wouldn't mind putting some matte black on my car.

Thanks Tony. No deck lid, just the hood section, and yes to complement the wheels. Trying to keep things relatively simple I think. :_paranoid

Thanks Jody. If you haven't seen that silver 69 over at Gearhead, you should check it out. It makes my car look like something ready for the cash for clunkers program.

thanks! how's your new motor coming? up and running? meth/water injection?

6D9 08-21-2009 11:49 PM

It runs great so far. Have not really been messing with it much. We bought a toyhauler last month so been fiddling with my truck to get everything right to tow it. So I still need the proper fuel system and a meth kit but that is next on my to do list. When you planning to go to the track??

What meth kit are you going with? I heard SNOW Performance makes a great product.

Cool.. maybe we will be ready for the track at the same time? I am hoping in the next month to get to the track. The car should be running and driving in 2-3 weeks.

I have a meth/water inj kit that came with my motor (can't remember the brand) but since I have added an intercooler I won't be installing it right away. Maybe down the road.

From what I have read, the water/meth injection is supposed to be pretty good for the engine? Help clean out deposists and keep the engine clean internally. Not sure how true it is?

Well each has different benefits. And it depends on what mix, if any, you run. If you run all water, you are gaining the cooling benefits. If you run all meth, you are essentially allowing more timing to be ran and/or more boost to be safely run (some liken it to a "shortcut" alternative to running race gas).

I like a 50/50 mix as you get some benefit of each.

tones2SS 08-23-2009 10:02 AM

Very cool Dave.
Yeah I was talking about the 50/50 ratio. Good to know. Thanks for the info!

My personal opinion aside, I offer my congrats. I understand it's called 'JoyBoy' and it'll debut at the Raymond Massey Institute for Advanced Theatrical Studies later this month.

So congrats to this very deserving Camaro owner for his soon to be 15 minutes of fame!

Skipper, don't quit your day job anytime soon.

Good timing for bumping this thread actually I finally got some updated pics from Jason... I haven't been up to Sac to see the car in prolly 2 months, but I will be up there soon. Multiple reasons for the delays (on both ends) but here is where we are now....

reshaped the intercooler plumbing to my liking (was offset before)

rear bumper delete mod! need to get a damn license plate on there to finish it off

True Flash, I'll try to keep my Seinfeldian humor contained to your thread. No need for others to suffer needlessly. :wow:

Well, from here it's looks all healed up... and certainly won't be confused with other '68's.

BTW that bumper delete deal is a fashion statement that works!

boonedog 09-18-2009 07:54 AM

flash if you dont mind what is the paint code for the silver? Its not going on a camaro its going on a cobra so im not ripn your paint scheme off:)

thanks boonie

camcojb 09-18-2009 08:21 AM

looks good my friend. I would consider painting the intercooler black to make it disappear, stealthy look that goes with the rest of the car.

Jody

tones2SS 09-18-2009 08:33 AM

Looks awesome Dave.
I love the rear end of that car. Looks good.

Vegas69 09-18-2009 10:01 AM

I agree with Jody. I do like the ass end of the car.

No problem. I don't have the code with me but its BMW sterling gray. Should be easy to find.

Thanks Jody. Ya know, that's a really good idea that I had not even considered and it does go with the overall theme I am going for. Tough call because I like the industrial look of the aluminum and plumbing but what you're saying makes sense..... :willy:

straight line or are there turns involved? :willy:

camcojb 09-18-2009 12:16 PM

this gives an idea of the difference. When I bought the car:

http://www.camcojb.com/temp/malitude 015.jpg

http://www.camcojb.com/temp/malitude_2.jpg

and after painting the intercooler black:

http://www.camcojb.com/temp/100_0771.jpg

I've had several people comment on how they liked the blacked out intercooler; the raw aluminum is cool, but in my opinion distracts from the front end of the car.

I can only imagine how good it sounds in person after seeing/hearing the car in the youtube videos!!:willy:

Blown353 09-18-2009 06:07 PM

Woohoo! Progress!

My only suggestion is I think the car would look better with brushed lips on the wheels... the all-black wheels just disappear IMO. Brushed lips would make them a little more noticeable without drawing too much attention. Either that or whitewalls.

6D9 09-18-2009 07:59 PM

Lookin good bro! I just ordered my fuel system yesterday its should be ready within the next 3-4 weeks i hope. Lets hit the track sometime in Oct/Nov.

Jody I think you might have me sold on this. That really looks good on yours and I think would on mine too. Thanks for posting those pics. Never get sick of seeing pics of your car. :)

Yeah I had thought about that but I really didn't want the extra contrast (these wheels were black center/polished lips before as a comparison) and was okay with losing some of the detail of the wheels.

Whitewalls.... now there's an idea.

Sorry, no can do. That's chicken feed compared to what I get promoting Little Yerry Seinfeld. :unibrow:

gearheadgarage 09-19-2009 12:14 PM

More changes??

Dude, we better pull that thing and black it out soon if you think you want to. I went ahead and ordered the whitewalls, should look pretty sweet- maybe we can get a pic for Skip w/you standing next to the whitewalls and the world-famous Flash Footwear.

I sent my MagnaCharger in yesterday to get overdriven....more boost please!!

No word on your ProCharger yet............

Flash68 09-19-2009 01:48 PM

I don't want to do anything that delays what is already being buttoned up at this point.... can always change later... I just need to drive it before I lose interest.

What's Procharger's ETA? They won't answer the phone?
