I'm seeing if he can put his mouth where my money is... We'll see if he can build something that runs and drives (long distances). All I've seen is show cars and big trucks and little trucks... it's like a friggin Tonka store over there. :unibrow:

I don't know, doesn't Greg usually start with a perfectly nice finished car and tweak it from there? :D

Well how kool would that be!! My build budget is around half a million bucks -- so I figure the car will be worth AT LEAST 50 grand when it's all done. :woot:

Well -- unless I post an Ad on FleaBay -- then I will make some moronic statements about "If you don't buy this MoFo right now for triple what it cost me to build... then it's going to Barrett Jackass where I'm sure some drunk high roller will buy it for far far more!"

Don't worry Greg when your and out of money and living on the streets. We can do a fundraiser benefit for you and have some celebrities helps sell it for at least 60K. Just imagine the star power of Doug Renner and Todd ICEMAN Akes. And I'm sure for a small donation for his foundation, Carl Casanova would come out to support you also as long as you have scheduled TV time for him right after Mary Pozzi drives the car on to the stage.

HAHA

GregWeld 12-10-2011 08:56 PM

I'll always have plenty of dough.... note in the photos of the Bubblebutt... my newest innovation (Cassanova is going to handle the marketing) - a "can't fail" parking brake system... made out of common household items (dunnage)... I should be able to sell this idea for millions. The margins will be huge.

Vegas69 12-11-2011 12:02 AM

Cream puff is your man, no doubt.

GregWeld 12-11-2011 07:08 AM

Think we should call this build....

Pro Touring Cruiser Style

Or

Power Tour Cruiser

It'll hold more golf bags than my Mercedes!

GregWeld 12-11-2011 07:48 AM

A couple more appropriate names that I've come up with:

Payback

But that's already taken....

Gray Balz

More appropriate given my age...

Jackass

Fit's my personality...

50/50

'Cause it's kind of a business deal...

Chicanery

'Cause we are having fun with it...

Tweak or Tweaker

'Cause that's how it all starts...

Project Unfair

'Cause all you're going to have to do to go faster, quicker, or corner harder is to just open the door - get out - and get into another car... We're really building three cars just to prove our point.

:lateral:  :woot:

Stuart Adams 12-11-2011 08:02 AM

Looks busy in there. Glad to see things are going well.

Fluid Power 12-11-2011 08:29 AM

Can' t wait to see it. Top 3 of my all time favorite body styles!

Cris@JCG 12-11-2011 09:45 AM

Yeah! another car I can borrow from you to knock down cones!

Rodger- Looking forward to seeing the 62 come together..

We need a project name.... maybe something like?

Bakersfield Bubble Buster:wow:

Bubble Blower:willy:

syborg tt 12-12-2011 06:47 AM

Okay I have one

How about " Sooner or Later"

also just Curious are those Kenny's Wheels - If so

"' Oh no you Did ent" kenny gonna be mad at you.

toddshotrods 12-12-2011 06:53 AM

If the "few tweaks" thread is an indication of where this is going, you'd better start a dedicated thread or this one isn't going to have much to do with what (else) is happening at Ironworks! :P

"Bubblegun" - requires something really awesome for a motor (the gun part) or actual military weapons transplanted onto the car.

The name is Bond... Greg Bond.

Hey -- It's RODGERS thread -- we're just jacking it!

It's up to him to provide some leadership skills. :unibrow:

BubbleGum because it is a bubble top and everyone is just going to run their mouth in the thread once it starts.

I wish there was some way to have a height requirement in this thread.

RECOVERY ROOM 12-12-2011 07:43 AM

OUCH

Vegas69 12-12-2011 08:24 AM

Once you get done chopping the top to fit the proportions of the owner, I'm not sure it will be classified as a bubble top anymo...

Your leadership is from the top down....

But I'm ever optimistic 'cause I'm always looking up...

Kenny ---

Rodger is on the 50/50 time clock for build times.... Europe will have paid down their debts and there won't be any more wars.

Seems the short people have the money in this build and the tall people be working for the short people and the master metal guys isn't that tall.

so I say the short people win.

hand them over brother. You saw how well I did Scott's 72 Camaro add and that only took 5 minutes.

For you I would spend at least 6 minutes

ironworks 03-20-2012 07:37 AM

It has been a while.

I guess we are long over due for an Update. Things have been really busy around the shop. We have been getting close to wrapping up Truck number 2 for Frank. The cab for the 60 is now out of the paint booth. We hope to have that installed on the chassis later this week.

The color is really bitchin. We decided to go with this new wheel from Budnik.
http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t.../andywheel.jpg

We have been working on getting the seat and interior laid out. We bought a bunch or distressed leather for the interior.
http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...IMAG0283-1.jpg

We had the Open House Party for all the guys on their way to Irvine for Run to the Coast. As you can see we even had a special guest in attendance. MISTER WAR. He was here signing autographs. We were able to raise 200 bucks for a local charity with the 500 bucks Greg spent on dinner.

ironworks 03-20-2012 09:02 AM

We got another prototype version of our Wiring harness. This one goes in the 1960 Ford. You can see the Mil-Spec connector installed in the harness. The tech Flex wrapping is a closed loop wrapping and is put on before the connectors are finalized. The ends are heat shrunk. The Mil-spec connectors will make installation much easier since you only have to drill one hole in the firewall and connect things up instead of the trying to shove big connectors through a big hole and make that look nice.

We do not have solid pricing structure yet but we are still working out the details.

We will have LS1, LS2, LS3, LS7, LS9, and LSA engine harness's. We are also working on an LS engine harness that will working small block and big block chevrolets. You will be able to multi coils and DBW with a very affordable harness.
