Cris, let's see some paint!

Cris@JCG 09-20-2011 05:18 PM

Sorry AL but the paint gods have been challenging us.. The blue is good to go.. but the flat black gets us with small bits of dirt.. when you color sand the clear we get a gloss finish.. I will get it.. but in the mean time It is fustrating..

The WidowMaker 09-22-2011 07:54 PM

sick as usual. like many others have said, i have now added more parts to my list.

CarlC 09-22-2011 09:06 PM

The paint on this car is stunning. The blue with the black rear panel is awesome, along with all of other details that make this a really nice build. Great work Cris.

Cris@JCG 09-22-2011 10:26 PM

Thanks Tim & Carl..

Here is a rear shot of what the car is looking like.. Got most of the sub-frame assembled.. Got a few parts to paint for final assembly.. Started doing some asembly on the dash to see if the colors are working.. I think the center cross brace bracket on the firewall will need to be powder coated black.. The slamming of this car starts tomorrow..

Cris@JCG 09-23-2011 06:42 PM

Karl- Just shooting to have the car done for SEMA will be great... but I do want the car shaken out before it goes to SEMA.. Hell.. We are gonna be fighting for the keys to who drives it to Optima!! :D

No really I want cris to shoot for everything, not just SEMA. If he can get the car shaken out in time, I would think that it would have a good chance at getting an OUSCI invite. Never can tell if this opportunity will come by again. Carpe whatever. Seize the day!

Cris,

Looks great of course.

I really like the continuity of design you're achieving by having your own components manufactured.

tones2SS 09-26-2011 05:20 PM

Very nice Cris. Can't wait to see this bad boy complete. Looks great.

Ricochet 09-27-2011 03:00 AM

Attention to detail is second to none! Motor pic is the money shot! Nailed the industrial look with with the satin gray, black and stainless hardware! Is the top of the cowl gloss or just a reflection?

Good luck on the thrash and look forward to seeing it at SEMA!

Z06Joe 09-27-2011 05:03 AM

Beautiful work guys!!!!! Is this a customers car or a shop car???

Cris@JCG 09-27-2011 07:18 AM

Skip- We have more small components coming for this build.. & plenty more in design that are coming for other builds..

No billet trunk hinges?:willy:

BANKO 09-27-2011 09:03 AM

What finish on the uprights?

http://i1015.photobucket.com/albums/...n/IMG_1567.jpg

Nice detail on finishing the stock Uprights. Did you powder coat or hard anodize them? Also did you press out and re-install the upper ball joint? Was masking the part a pain?

good lord Cris. The progress is amazing! I need to get out there and check it out by any means necessary

Cris@JCG 09-27-2011 01:18 PM

Billet trunk hinges were not in the budget.. We need to leave some of it for gas money.. The trunk is not a focal point in the car.. so could not justify the cost for billet trunk hinges

The sub-frame is powder coated.. the rest is painted.. Gotta thank Jay/Jamess113 for helping on the paint formula for the grey & helping on getting correct flatting agent for the colors..

Masked control arms & uprights.. painted them
