Ahhh...Nutin like a real Kansas suppah.

coolwelder62 12-24-2011 09:35 AM

Well guy's it time to get real serious about this protouring thing.I am going to quit talking about food. And start doing some major work on the camaro. Will be looking into some real HP. upgrade's.Also looking at way's to take some wt. out of the car.I am thinking a Magnuson 2300 supercharger will fit under the hood. And that and a Cam & heads up grade will be just what We need to make the car a real contender at the up coming event's.Stay tuned,Same Bat time, same bat channel.

71RS/SS396 12-24-2011 10:40 AM

Don't waste your money on a cam and heads, the stock pistons are going to be the limiting factor. You'll only be able to safely run about 6 psi of boost with the cast pistons.

coolwelder62 12-24-2011 11:26 AM

I was going to run the double forged piston's so I can pump the boost to over 40psi.:D

Scott, I made 689RWHP @12psi on my last LS2 engine with a Big Cam and factory pistons.....But ofcoarse my tune was dead on and I was running Methanol Injection. The engine ran Strong for a whole Year, until I went Bigger.

With a mild cam @8psi will get you easly in the 550+RWHP Safely with a Great Tune

Did you road race it? Big difference in making dyno numbers and taking it out a flogging it for several laps.

coolwelder62 12-24-2011 11:40 AM

Thank's for the info Phil.I was going to 100 proof Tenn. shine injection to gain even better spark.:D

71RS/SS396 12-24-2011 11:44 AM

You're going to get your car drunk that way :D

thats not good thing, i have a hard enough time makin it go fast and not hitting anything as it is.

coolwelder62 12-24-2011 12:05 PM

I really only need about 40 HP more to be competive w/the big dog's.So alittle waggle won't hurt that bad.

No Road racing, but a alot of Highway runs that last 1-2hrs without cooling down and a handful times at Drag Strip......My Point is that these LS engines can handle quite abusement on stock internals.

Scott 500+rwhp with a blower will definetly not be a problem
