Color
:y0!:
I'd say the lighter one. Gives you option to do darker accent colors if you add striping or race line graphics. . |

So here is the lighter one. Silver Sand Metallic https://photos.smugmug.com/photos/i-...-m8sg9d7-M.jpg The darker is Luxe Metallic. Yup....both Lincoln colors. https://photos.smugmug.com/photos/i-...-966bjv5-M.jpg Doesn't look like a huge difference in the pictures, but seeing them side by side in the same light you really see it. The Silver Sand shows a bit of tan-ish tint to it in the right light. And the Luxe really changes in the bright light looking awesome, but it drops off and looks blah in the shade or on an over cast day. I have a few more in mind, but these are the starters. |
How about "Plum Crazy"...... because that's what you're going to be by the time you finally pick a color.
|
Updates are coming in a lot more frequently! I take that as we are getting closer and closer to the end goal. Well...Jim's end goal. He passed my expectations a ways back.
Love how the light sits on the body line like that. https://photos.smugmug.com/photos/i-...-9PHWbDV-L.jpg https://photos.smugmug.com/photos/i-...-n7bkXm4-L.jpg https://photos.smugmug.com/photos/i-...-vjsskvg-L.jpg Jim really paid attention to our first conversation about the car when I told him that I am always really impressed by the trunk gaps on a build. Pretty sure that's why I get so many pictures of this. Not that I'm complaining! https://photos.smugmug.com/photos/i-...-LDKMzdW-L.jpg https://photos.smugmug.com/photos/i-...-PTHvbNm-L.jpg https://photos.smugmug.com/photos/i-...-ZRZNQjR-L.jpg Have a good day! |

Hi Curtis.
Hi Curtis. As Flash pointed out already 4 out 5 will choose the darker colour, and he's been pretty much proven correct. I personally prefer the lighter shade and the black bumble bee and tailpanel it will contrast a lot more, you might lose some of the effect on the darker colour. Just my 2 cents worth mate.😊
Cheers Trevor. |
Either way you are painting it an old fart color. :D
|
Curtis,
Have Laurie pick the color. That way, if you don't like how it turns out, at least we won't ever have to listen to you complain about it publicly. :innocent: |
Curtis ... my .02 cents ..... just wrap it! Easy color change if you change your mind!

I like the darker lincoln color. Fits a muscle car better in my non important opinion. Looking good!

You suffer for your paint Curtis! :P But remember the lesson of BMF...sure the right paint color is obviously very important, yet imho the 360K+ page views is mostly due to them special stripes. |
In for the darker silver.
|
I'm leaning towards the dark side too.
|
I agree with the consensus, the darker. The lighter is just to vanilla and bland for a muscle car. It's like painting your walls swiss coffee. (In real estate that's the safe bet for walls to please everybody)

Agree! Muscle Cars are supposed to be bad ass.... I mean really... would you cerakote an AR metallic white? |

Hi Curtis.
Hi Curtis, The picture Skip has just posted looks really sweet. About a week or so ago I emailed you a link showing a 2nd gen, from memory it was a similar shade and you commented your wife even liked it. 😊 I reckon there would still be enough contrast with a black stripe. That's my latest favorite mate.
Cheers. |

I really like Mike Reckley's 67. It doesn't seem to dark or to light to me. Haven't seen it in person, but it seems well balanced and doesn't flip to much from what I can see. If I could find something similar, I'd be happy.

one of my 1st 68's in my memory was a mist/silver 68, my dads friend owned, this was the early 80's, so who know what color it really was, but that's what I'd go with,
|
I really like Mike's 67 ... understated yet awesome! Still think a wrap is the way to go :relax:
|
Here is another color you should check out Curtis. Its called Guard its a factory color on the new mustang. I know anything ford on a chevy would make the internet explode but I love this color

Damn, that Guard green is nice!! Makes me think of the great Porsche green and brown colors of late. We're totally not helping.
If you're still thinking Lincoln silver, I agree with the darker. |

How big is that trailer anyways? I'm thinking about buying one. |
Good luck on color choice. I am stuck at that point right now. Took me long enough to make a wheels choose. Google Lotus Elise Storm Titanium.

It's a 24' Storm, they are gone now but I've been very happy with it. https://scontent-ord1-1.xx.fbcdn.net...59&oe=57686AAB Not sure if you can see this without FB. |
Did you pick a color?

This is my vote, HOK Galaxy Gray. You can really see how it changes on the body lines of this 33/34, doesn't appear to mask any of the details.
I'm sure I missed it, what are the details/finish on the wheels and are you doing stripes of any kind? |

That looks alot like mercedes alubeam. |
