AJ, maybe you could post that awesome walk-around video?
|
AJ I am blown away by your skills and your ability to think outside of the box. Every time I look at this thread I see so many cool idea's and it's hard not to "Want" to do some of the stuff your doing.

In between all of this work I've been doing some body work on the hood, upper valance and roof getting it pretty close so when its ready for a real body guy it won't be too far off and should help move things along quicker from paint jail. For not being a body guy I'm really happy with how it came out so far.

I've been going back and forth on where to put my fuel filler since the Vette tanks are kinda high behind the driver seat. I didn't want to have an external filler, but thats what worked the best for me. I had an EMI filler, but I wanted a locking one so I ordered the RideTech unit. Safe to call it a unit as its huge and heavy. On the scale it was over a pound and twice as much as the EMI that I ended up using, because of the weight and size. Mostly the weight lol. With a modification to my bead roller a few years ago I made a perfect circle to recess the filler cap. I cut that up from version 1.0 and welded it into the driver quarter. And as with the rest of the metal if was pick and filed to fix the warping. https://j.hmjimg.com/2021/08/15/IMG_...4e5a40b.md.jpghttps://j.hmjimg.com/2021/08/02/IMG_...b9b101a.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2021/08/15/IMG_...7cf8111.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2021/08/15/IMG_...ad56749.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2021/08/15/IMG_...d3825b5.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2021/08/15/IMG_...cbc59cb.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2021/08/15/IMG_...b7ad28f.md.jpg I also received my LED headlamps, so I got those test fit then boxed back up. https://j.hmjimg.com/2021/08/15/IMG_...9f02b5e.md.jpg I also found a place for my ABS module and BPMV. I made a bracket to mount the modified stock bracket to and then mounted the whole assembly behind the passenger fender in the wasted space. https://j.hmjimg.com/2021/08/15/IMG_...e68c4f5.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2021/08/15/IMG_...95d80a1.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2021/08/15/IMG_...3665ef1.md.jpg |
Ok aside from all that great work you've done your decision on the fuel filler door is killer.I hate fuelling up my car from the stock location. That just looks mean.Really enjoyed seeing this build coming along. That carbon fibre in the roof is also killer...cheers

Fantastic work in my opinion!

AJ, outstanding work as usual.
What's the story on the 55 Nomad in the back? https://j.hmjimg.com/2021/08/02/IMG_...1bc6618389.jpg |

Okay. Thanks guys.

Sorry for the lack of updates. Ok this is going to be long since its been a while since I've updated this. I'm just gonna touch on everything kinda quick since the pics are worth a thousand words.
Looks like last update I had mounted the ABS. After that I built a washer reservoir and used it to mount the supercharger cooler pump. https://j.hmjimg.com/2021/11/20/IMG_3705.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2021/11/20/IMG_3703.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2021/11/20/IMG_3521.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2021/11/20/IMG_3522.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2021/11/20/IMG_3523.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2021/11/20/IMG_3524.md.jpg I fabricated a fuel fill pipe to connect the filler to the tank thats behind the drivers seat. https://j.hmjimg.com/2021/11/20/IMG_3526.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2021/11/20/IMG_3533.md.jpg Then I moved onto the frame work for the rear package tray delete panel/waterfall, sanded everything down and shot it in black epoxy. https://j.hmjimg.com/2021/11/20/IMG_3649.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2021/11/20/IMG_3648.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2021/11/20/IMG_3650.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2021/11/20/IMG_3638.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2021/11/20/IMG_3589.md.jpg Which led to the waterfall being fabricated out of .040 aluminum, The plan is for this to be carped on the lower section and leather on the upper section with a 12" sub in the middle. Also a start of the rear side panels. https://j.hmjimg.com/2021/11/20/IMG_3791.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2021/11/20/IMG_3790.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2021/11/20/IMG_3731.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2021/11/20/IMG_3710.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2021/11/20/IMG_3729.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2021/11/20/IMG_3709.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2021/11/20/IMG_3708.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2021/11/20/IMG_3707.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2021/11/20/IMG_3641.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2021/11/20/IMG_3642.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2021/11/20/IMG_3640.md.jpg A quick little fuse bank holder next to the battery to hold the Mega fuses that power my Infinity Box system. https://j.hmjimg.com/2021/11/20/IMG_3788.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2021/11/20/IMG_3787.md.jpg Some body and paint work on the firewall to get that moving in the right direction as well as the supercharger lid and cover. I'm a big fan of this red and black color combo that will be against a matte black engine bay and the metallic blue the car will be. https://j.hmjimg.com/2021/11/20/IMG_4248.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2021/11/20/IMG_4262.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2021/11/20/IMG_4252.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2021/11/20/IMG_4243.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2021/11/20/IMG_4240.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2021/11/20/IMG_4241.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2021/11/20/IMG_4239.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2021/11/20/IMG_4201.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2021/11/20/IMG_4200.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2021/11/20/IMG_4197.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2021/11/20/IMG_4196.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2021/11/20/IMG_4183.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2021/11/20/IMG_4195.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2021/11/20/IMG_3913.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2021/11/20/IMG_3891.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2021/11/20/IMG_3853.md.jpg The engine has been mostly assembled and I welded AN fittings to the valve covers and bigger fittings on the breather tank. https://j.hmjimg.com/2021/11/20/IMG_4266.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2021/11/20/IMG_4267.md.jpg Around this time I started to work on the side skirts and get them ready to make molds from. https://j.hmjimg.com/2021/11/20/IMG_4199.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2021/11/20/IMG_4121.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2021/11/20/IMG_4117.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2021/11/20/IMG_4114.md.jpg I also took the car to a local car show. Turns out I wasn't the only trailed car there. https://j.hmjimg.com/2021/11/20/IMG_4010.md.jpg |
I've been messing with the wider body up front to clear the wheels. I used foam as a base then fiberglass to get a little more solid and shaped it with body filler. After all this is final I'll prime and paint it, wet sand, then buff to a high shine so I can make a mold off it then make a carbon fiber panel to replace everything with.
https://j.hmjimg.com/2022/07/14/IMG_5967.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2022/07/14/IMG_5969.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2022/07/14/IMG_5966.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2022/07/14/IMG_4485.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2022/07/14/IMG_4590.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2022/07/14/IMG_4483.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2022/07/14/IMG_4472.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2022/07/14/IMG_4471.md.jpg I've also finished up my C6 door latch swap and trimmed the under side of the hood so I could get to the secondary latch when I pop the hood. That will all be repaired with carbon and body worked so it looks like it came that way. <https://j.hmjimg.com/2022/07/14/IMG_6323.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2022/07/14/IMG_6316.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2022/07/14/IMG_6305.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2022/07/14/IMG_6315.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2022/07/14/IMG_6306.md.jpg I mounted up the heat exchanger, oil cooler, and power steering cooler. Unless I had a stock one side by side you'd never be able to tell all the work I did on the header panel support to keep it looking factory while clearing the tilted forward radiator, mounting the power steering cooler to it, and raising up the mount to fit the Porsche hood latch. Oh, and dimple die holes for some weight savings. https://j.hmjimg.com/2022/07/14/IMG_6760.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2022/07/14/IMG_6762.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2022/07/14/IMG_6759.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2022/07/14/IMG_6761.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2022/07/14/IMG_6397.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2022/07/14/IMG_6679.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2022/07/14/IMG_6398.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2022/07/14/IMG_6395.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2022/07/14/IMG_6396.md.jpg Some modern magic with this rev match module so I don't have to heel/toe all the time when down shifting. Perfect spot in the center console for it and out of site. https://j.hmjimg.com/2022/07/14/IMG_6755.md.jpg The last of the update brings us to some grille block off panels. Since the goal is to keep as much needless air as I can from going into the engine bay I made up these block off panels for the grille. I made them out of .040 aluminum to the size of the heat exchanger and oil cooler and duct them to the coolers. The center I left wide enough to blow onto the power steering cooler. https://j.hmjimg.com/2022/07/14/IMG_6783.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2022/07/14/IMG_6784.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2022/07/14/IMG_6782.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2022/07/14/IMG_6781.md.jpg |

Long overdue update. I've kinda lost motivation to work on the car, but I'm still trying to get things progressing forward. There is some small stuff here and there thats not really important, so I'll skip some stuff and hit the major things. It looks like I left off with the fenders and front end close outs. Well, the fenders still aren't done. Long story short, I'm waiting on a guy to model them in CAD and then another guy to 3D print them for me as I don't have a big enough printer. More on that to come.
Lets start with the exhaust. I had a set of 2" headers from a well known company. Turns out they wern't even close to fitting even though they were for a Corvette chassis. I cut them up and turned them into a set of Tri-Y headers. I ran full 3" to the back with 2 X-pipes and a set of cut outs. The muffler is a Holley part that a buddy that worked for their technical team was able to get me. Its an internal crossover muffler used on the 6th gen Camaro systems they sell. The cutouts skip the muffler at the back similar to C6, and C7 Corvettes as well as 6th gen Camaros and CTS-V's work. Its all vacuum operated and I'll have a controller that opens and closes them based on throttle % and RPM as well as a manual override for full open and closed. I used Sendcutsend to laser cut out exhaust tags with my cars name and logo that also reinforce the X-pipe. Also as you can see, the tail panel has been cut out for the future home of the exhaust tips. **Its too big of pain in the ass to put them in order, sorry** https://j.hmjimg.com/2024/09/19/QWSQ5313.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2024/09/19/IMG_8997.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2024/09/19/IMG_9001.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2024/09/19/IMG_8999.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2024/09/19/IMG_8903.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2024/09/19/IMG_8899.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2024/09/19/IMG_8786.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2024/09/19/IMG_8785.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2024/09/19/IMG_8471.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2024/09/19/IMG_8464.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2024/09/19/IMG_7759.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2024/09/19/IMG_7760.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2024/09/19/IMG_7758.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2024/09/19/IMG_6227.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2024/09/19/IMG_6224.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2024/09/19/IMG_6223.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2024/09/19/IMG_6222.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2024/09/19/IMG_0636.md.jpg Exhaust 98% done I started roughing in the defuser in foam. This will eventually be made out of carbon fiber. https://j.hmjimg.com/2024/09/19/IMG_9304.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2024/09/19/IMG_9303.md.jpg The bottom of the hood is also 95% done https://j.hmjimg.com/2024/09/19/IMG_8358.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2024/09/19/IMG_8362.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2024/09/19/IMG_8080.md.jpg I cut up some very nice and expensive carbon fiber A-pillar moldings. After foaming and shaping to fit my dash everything was fiberglassed. The foam was cut out from the back side and then everything was body worked and primed. I don't know if I'll warp them in leather or paint them yet. https://j.hmjimg.com/2024/09/19/IMG_E2011.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2024/09/19/IMG_E1582.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2024/09/19/IMG_1471.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2024/09/19/IMG_2012.md.jpg At this point the shop I was working for moved into a new shop. With that we got our mill and lathe running. Knowing I wasn't going to stay working there for too much longer I knocked out as much machine work as I had/needed. I made bushings for the core support, lift pucks, cable adapters for the doors. The throttle pedal to match the rest of the Corvette pedals, but without the crappy wobble that they are known for. Most importantly I machined a ton of stainless bolts and whats a cool looking bolt without an awesome moto inspired aluminum washer? 1/4", 5/16", and 3/8" along with some metric so the engine stuff matches. I also machined threaded bungs for tow hooks for track days that are easily removable. https://j.hmjimg.com/2024/09/19/IMG_E4526.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2024/09/19/IMG_E2655.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2024/09/19/IMG_4581.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2024/09/19/IMG_4580.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2024/09/19/IMG_4579.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2024/09/19/IMG_4110.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2024/09/19/IMG_4214.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2024/09/19/IMG_2790.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2024/09/19/IMG_2416.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2024/09/19/IMG_2789.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2024/09/19/IMG_2346.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2024/09/19/IMG_2338.md.jpg I also finished my engine and mounted the mirrors. https://j.hmjimg.com/2024/09/19/IMG_4762.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2024/09/19/IMG_2598.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2024/09/19/IMG_2599.md.jpg Oh, and the supercharger received some CNC race porting just to keep things spicy. https://j.hmjimg.com/2024/09/19/IMG_4259.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2024/09/19/IMG_4256.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2024/09/19/IMG_3936.md.jpg The mock up lower radiator mounts I finally got around to making out of aluminum and getting them finished. https://j.hmjimg.com/2024/09/19/IMG_2874.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2024/09/19/IMG_2873.md.jpg At this point I went to work for another shop that supports my ideas instead of telling me that most places don't do what I have in mind. Thats 3D printing. I spent a bunch of money and bought a new laptop, 3D printer setup, 3D scanner, and CAD software and then took the youtube crash corses on how to do it all. The second car part I made was a mount for my BMW soft close trunk latch, which I retro fitted into my car. https://j.hmjimg.com/2024/09/19/IMG_E5496.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2024/09/19/IMG_E5495.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2024/09/19/IMG_6109.md.jpg |
The very first car part I printed and modeled in CAD was a camera mount for my Live View camera. I have this setup in my truck and love it.
https://j.hmjimg.com/2024/09/19/IMG_5930.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2024/09/19/IMG_5928.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2024/09/19/IMG_5927.md.jpg So with the 3D printer now at my disposal I've been working on front brake ducts, the brake duct inlets with integrated fog lamps, hood release handle mount and dash end close out base, cold air intakes, emblem mounts, door panels, ect. All kinds of stuff that would have taken so much more time if I tried to make it out of carbon or metal. Just note these are all printed in cheap PLA for mock up. Once I'm 100% happy they everything will be printed in a higher end material depending on where its used. It could be ASA/ABS or a carbon fiber reinforced nylon. https://j.hmjimg.com/2024/09/19/IMG_6664.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2024/09/19/IMG_6597.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2024/09/19/IMG_6596.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2024/09/19/IMG_6429.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2024/09/19/IMG_6416.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2024/09/19/IMG_6414.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2024/09/19/IMG_6415.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2024/09/19/IMG_6171.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2024/09/19/IMG_6173.md.jpg I picked up a resin printer as well, its a warm liquid goo that hardens with UV light. I made one of my HVAC duct adapters from the C6 dash to the Vintage Air duct hose. https://j.hmjimg.com/2024/09/19/IMG_6519.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2024/09/19/IMG_6516.md.jpg |
Some trick stuff w/the 3D printing & resins.

Awesome build. Can’t wait….

To say I am glad that you are at a new place is an understatement. Your talent and skills are truly inspirational and thank you for sharing these and I can't wait to see more.

Long time, no update. Not long after the last post I wasn't really feeling myself. I've been lacking motivation on the car and a bunch of other health issues that kind of came at me all at once. Did some testing with the Doc and a few biopsies and it turns out I have Thyroid Cancer. Sucks, but at least I have a reason and I'm supposed to have surgery in the next week or so. I've still been chipping away at the car trying to force myself to get stuff done, but defiantly drag my feet most of the day.
Anyways, let me get you caught up as to where I'm at. Shifter linkage is done. https://j.hmjimg.com/2025/08/03/IMG_7050.md.jpg I needed a way to mount my ECM so I modeled up a mount. Final print will be out of carbon fiber reinforced nylon. https://j.hmjimg.com/2025/08/03/IMG_8446.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2025/08/03/IMG_8439.md.jpg Wiring has been mostly done on the rear speed sensors, transmission, and engine harness. https://j.hmjimg.com/2025/08/03/IMG_7067.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2025/08/03/IMG_7066.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2025/08/03/IMG_8723.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2025/08/03/IMG_8729.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2025/08/03/IMG_8727.md.jpg With how I want to wire my car I needed a few different fuse blocks for the ignition relays and stuff not running through my Infinity Box. The left of the glove box opening on the C6 dash is a good spot and the passenger dash end it another great spot. Modeled up some mounts and printed mock up pieces. https://j.hmjimg.com/2025/08/03/IMG_8560.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2025/08/03/IMG_8770.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2025/08/03/IMG_E8559.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2025/08/03/IMG_8776.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2025/08/03/IMG_8775.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2025/08/03/IMG_8774.md.jpg While I had the drive train dropped out it was a good time to add some fish plates to the torque tube tunnel just for a little extra strength. I also finished out the section of floor behind the seat to the fuel tanks. On the top side I have a reinforced box so I could bolt a lift puck so I have a good spot to jack without crushing the floor or side skirts when they're bolted on. I also cut out the bottom frame filler panel to run the dry sump oil lines through. https://j.hmjimg.com/2025/08/03/IMG_E8025.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2025/08/03/IMG_E7057.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2025/08/03/IMG_8206.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2025/08/03/IMG_8162.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2025/08/03/IMG_8035.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2025/08/03/IMG_8025.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2025/08/03/IMG_8024.md.jpg Interion lighting has been upgraded to LED's as well mounted with more 3D printed parts. https://j.hmjimg.com/2025/08/03/IMG_8436.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2025/08/03/IMG_8434.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2025/08/03/IMG_8433.md.jpg With the wide body needing to be wider then the Anvil finders already are scanned a previously mocked up widened fender and modeled it up in CAD to be able to make a mold and mirror it for the passenger side. Lots of prints later and I have a few molds. Hit them with high build to get rid of the layer lines and blocked them out to see what is gonna need filler work before I can pull a carbon part from them. https://j.hmjimg.com/2025/08/03/IMG_7708.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2025/08/03/IMG_7721.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2025/08/03/IMG_7720.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2025/08/03/IMG_7790.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2025/08/03/IMG_7719.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2025/08/03/IMG_7734.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2025/08/03/IMG_7728.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2025/08/03/IMG_7717.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2025/08/03/IMG_7763.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2025/08/03/IMG_7762.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2025/08/03/IMG_9162.md.jpg I final print both dash ends in glass reinforced ABS and fiber glassed them into a full size panel before final shaping and bonding them to the dash. The driver side from the previous update is for my hood release. https://j.hmjimg.com/2025/08/03/IMG_9285.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2025/08/03/IMG_9284.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2025/08/03/IMG_9283.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2025/08/03/IMG_9232.md.jpg I was originally going to 3D print my door panels, but it is a ton of work for me to figure out how to get the base of the panel to fit the door right so instead of wasting a ton of time I decided to start with a set of Fesler panels and cut them up to fit my dash and body. Needed to shorten the rear panels a lot. The front needed the speaker and center sections moved back to fit the dash. Now I can foam and fiberglass the upper section to fir the dash for better flow. From these I'll scan and model up arm rests, grab handled, and door release buttons. https://j.hmjimg.com/2025/08/03/IMG_9323.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2025/08/03/IMG_9316.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2025/08/03/IMG_9315.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2025/08/03/IMG_9314.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2025/08/03/IMG_9313.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2025/08/03/IMG_9317.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2025/08/03/IMG_9326.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2025/08/03/IMG_9325.md.jpg Cont. below |
I've also mounted the Gen5 HVAC case and printed up a few mounts for random modules. These hold the cruise control, duel window switch to control the exhaust, fuel gauge adjuster to adapter two fuel senders into a 0-90 GM gauge, the vacuum pump controller, and the HVAC controller.

I just started printing it out and I'm doing it in such a way that I can use it as the core material for the carbon fiber final part. Pics of the printed parts next update. https://j.hmjimg.com/2025/08/03/IMG_9399.md.jpg https://j.hmjimg.com/2025/08/03/IMG_9398.md.jpg |
Sorry to hear about the cancer. My wife went through this 3 years ago, and I had some melanoma removed last year. We're both doing great, and I hope the same for you.
The car progress is impressive, good job. |
I dont know witch is it, more cancer or info of having cancer. But it seems that its everyday thing.
Still FCK the cancer!! Hope all goes well. Car progress is killer. Same stuff I've been doing 5 years now, still learning everyday and opening the view perspective of what can be done. I also have cnc-machining at work. Abut printing, how do do cut a design to printable pieces? Friend of mine uses Luban-program. That pretty clever, I've just draw up a thin grid of 20"x20" (my printer bed) at offset plane and used it as cookie cutter. |

Thanks guys.
Yeah the cancer part sucks. It was caused by environmental stuff traced back to my days at the WTC during 9/11. Luckily surgery to remove and I should be good to go. SuperB, I'm using Fusion for all the design stuff including cutting stuff to printer size that way I can design in locating tabs and slots to glue together after the print. |

Really glad to see progress on this great build.
Hate hearing about the cancer diagnosis. Best of luck beating that crap. |
F'k Cancer
CamaroAJ ... With all the fine gentlemen here, wishing you all the best in your fight !!
Sincerely Steve |
Nice work, thanks for the updates and photos.
I know it's easier said than done, but keep your head up on the health concerns and stay strong brother. |
Thanks guys. I think I've come to terms with the diagnosis. I'm more upset that its going to pull time and funds away from my car then anything else lol. I have surgery scheduled for the 29th and hopefully thats the last of it.
