Chassis Dyno Number

I'm no chassis dyno guy so here are the numbers from a quick pull. Joe said these were good numbers because he had a twin turbo 427 on the dyno last week that made 525 HP. That car went low 10's.

We dynoed another LS9 with the same engine cal on an engine dyo and got these number.

Mark, Thanks for posting the pics and all the info. This has been a great build to follow.

I hope I get a chance to see JA on the road here in Michigan before you send it home to Charlie.

Awesome numbers.....that would be way to much drivetrain loss. I'd have to question those engine dyno numbers. Either way a blast to drive.

tones2SS 05-25-2009 08:46 AM

That is so awesome.
Seeing those pics of JA at the car show is just breath taking. The car just sits PERFECT and just by looking at it, you can tell it was put together VERY well!!
Very nice!:hail:

Mark can I get some info on the wheels on J-A Dia, how wide. offset ,& back spacing.I really want to use the 06/ZO6 wheels on my 72 camaro I am working on now.Just love the look of that OEM wheels. Scott.

Mustang Dyno's are notoriously low #'s wise. Would def see higher #'s from a dynojet, I wouldn't be too concerned after seeing the engine dyno #'s tho

Both dyno #'s were posted to show just what it is. The engine dyno was done at a shop that builds stuff for GM. The Chassis dyno was done on a new Mustang Dyno at Stenods. Joe at Stenods says his same dyno showed a twin turbo 427 making 525hp. I doubt if there is a 200 hp loss thru the drivetrain. We are not trying to sell engines here and posting fluffed #'s. A Dyno guy can make it show any # the customer wants.

Musclerodz 05-25-2009 10:50 AM

Looks great Charley. JA definitely is a culmination of all the others done just right. After looking at it for awhile now, I wonder how an argent grill would look to tie in with the wheels?

Didn't say you were. Simply stating that there is no way those numbers go together. There are a couple ZR1 chassis dynos on you tube. I would agree those numbers, especially the torque is conservative. Edmunds chassis dynoed a new ZR1. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mC-PQca6FJU

Im still waiting on the Video :(
oh.
She looks awsome

coolwelder62 05-26-2009 08:17 PM

I know the ZR-1 wheels are 19X10 & 20X12 And the C6ZO6 wheels are 18X9.5 & 19X12. And they are differant in design. I was thinking the offsets might be close to each other. I just was hoping some one would know the offsets.

Stielow 05-27-2009 05:16 AM

Production ZR-1 wheels are.

Front 19 X 10 40 mm offset
Rear 20 X 12 59 mm offset

Tires 285/30R19 Tire
Front 335/25R20 Tire

ZR1 Wheels Part Numbers
Front 09597239
Rear 09597241

If anyone else is interested to see how this equates to backspace...

Front: 7.07"
Rear: 8.82"

Ummgawa 05-27-2009 08:05 AM

Are the wheels being reproduced yet?

Rhino 05-27-2009 09:19 AM

They are being reproduced, although I have yet to see them in true ZR-1 sizes.
They were originally slated for March of this year.

Off to Power Tour

Just picked up JA from Reiter's. The guys did a killer job. I'm very happy with their attention to details.

Luckily my girl friend Laura has a tow vehicle. Too bad she works for Ford.

ENJOY!

hifi875 06-05-2009 10:10 AM

it just doesn't get any better than that, can't wait to see it next week.

Rybar 06-05-2009 10:56 AM

That engine bay is so perfect. Simple and factory looking install.

The way GM would build a '69 today.

Power Tour Up Date

JA is running great on Power Tour. Charley just called me to tell me he is getting 23.6 MPG on the highway.

Mark

Autokraft 06-09-2009 10:08 AM

That car is unreal. Very nice build and was glad to have a chance to see it in person. Nice talking to you Mark & Charley:thumbsup:

MaxHarvard 06-09-2009 10:20 AM

I saw it at the Quaker Steak and Lube show. My god that thing is amazing.

The part that impressed me the most was the amount of forethought that went into the car. The front roll cage can be disassembled for maintenance!! Now, that is planning! :hail:

AC vent identification

Could someone tell me who manufactures the AC vent on the dash of Jackass.
Picture on page 31. Thanks

jannes_z-28 06-15-2009 08:13 AM

Looks like a standard Vintage Air vent.

The car is very nice, and sounded great at Bristol. The track was slick so the et was a wash, trap speed was 126, if memory serves me correct.

Yes. That was Jim from Mother's. I had my car parked in their display most of the tour.

Stielow 06-16-2009 06:53 PM

Good Job Charley ----- You almost choked.

clill 06-16-2009 07:33 PM

At the little end it was just stupid me with tire spin. I tend to panic and floor it.

fleetus macmullitz 06-16-2009 08:43 PM

Charlie, any time you want to describe how JA rides and handles and anything else you want to tell us about it, I think just a few 'thou here might wanna know. :unibrow:
