I think the simple answer is Mahle realizes there is an oil control issue and a narrower ring set was the solution. Also tighter piston to wall clearances .003" to overcome the wear associated with the stroke dimensions.

In other words --- Even the manufacturers have figured out there's issues with big inch small blocks....

Yes a couple months ago --- a different engine builder seems to have done the trick nicely.

Ready and waiting my friend. Other than a recent chassis tune that gained another 42 hp and 42 ft/lbs of torque I have installed a Traqmate data aquisition system. :relax: Busy with work right now but if I get time I'll post pics of the dyno session and traqmate install.
I think the million dollar quetion is when is that bucket of bolts your calling a street car going to come out and play with us. :whistling:

Do yourself a HUGE favor and don't get caught up in what times someone else is running.... These cars are ALL different -- different power - different weight - different gearing - different size and compounds of tires (for instance I run a Hoosier A7 - whereas Gae runs the R6).... Different suspensions - Different SKILL levels.

Figure if you can run Thunderhill EAST (the original) with the Cyclone at 2:10 you'll be running with the bulk of the "group"... Without the Cyclone (known as the Bypass) that's a 2:06.

The Lotus is going to run that sub 2's --- and there's no way our old crap is going to get there without MAJOR suspension changes - and weight loss - and horsepower increases. Or MAJOR skill improvements. Best and cheapest fix for the car, is the nut behind the wheel.
