A little more progress made. The DSE sub frame connectors are in and tack welded. Pretty fun project. A little nerve racking trying to make sure the subframe was square, but overall, pretty straight forward. I plan to weld the inside of the car solid, then install the seat pans. I'll finish the underside when the car is on the rotisserie. One step closer!!!

I bet I measured that subframe 40 times making sure it was square.

I know. I thought about that several times. What would be nice is if someone could make sub frame connectors like the DSE ones that only weld on the bottom side of the car without going through the floor. I don't know if the strength would be there, though.

You had to cut the SFC to length and weld on the close out plate, right? If so....nice welds man!!

Yeah, I had to cut about 1/2" - 5/8" off the end and then weld the end plates on. I've been testing the waters on TIG welding when I'm slow at work. I wanted to TIG the brackets and end plate on these, but I would have to wait until Monday and this part of the project has been dragging on too long. Thanks.

Thanks, brother. I try to improve on my welding each time I do it. I guess I'm so used to welding sheetmetal, that it's nice to weld something with some meat behind it every once in a while.
