Sweet! How much clearance do you have with the inner fender?

64mali 08-22-2016 05:42 PM

Zoomin, the clearance to the fender well is good, I am more concerned with the oil pan and cross member. The good news is when I put the coil overs in if it is an issue I can raise it up a little bit.

I was hoping the huge disk brake trend ends before I am done so I can save a little money and just run it with rear drums. LOL

Ahh man, I got a Booo! LOL. I've ordered up the fuel lines and I'm waiting on some electrical stuff and hopefully I can fire this thing up soon.

Really great job with everything!
Can't wait to see it on the ground at your finished ride height.

Anyone that doesn't like LS engines is going to get a lot of heartburn on this site. :snapout:

I've got a FiTech unit too, but haven't hooked it up yet. Can't wait to test it out.

Haha, I agree about the LS engines so here's my stance on it.

A.. I have two healthy big blocks that are done and have a lot of money tied up into them so it really doesn't make a whole lot of sense for me at this point to do an LS swap. My second motor is a beast at over 700 HP on pump gas!

B.. At this point it's better for me to finish my build and try to set up for an LS swap down the road if I am unhappy with the motors I have or as they die...LOL, I'm not easy on motors so in all reality I just need to start preparing for that day in advance.

C.. I am happy setting the car up with this type of fuel injection for now knowing that I'll have parts in the car like the fuel injection tank, fuel system, and transmission that will easily adapt to an LS down the road. I have also thought about doing the swap using a carbureted intake and the FITech if I wanted. In all reality now that I have the T56, the fuel system, the FITech, I am thinking a swap will be relatively painless. I am also very excited to get the car running with all the improvements I have made so I have an idea of what I like and would like to improve on.

All in all, I am very partial to traditional small blocks and big blocks in old Chevy's. I am also very open to the thought of doing an LS swap. You simply can't ignore their reliability and performance. There's no doubt in my mind I will do an LS swap in the future. For now, my focus is getting the car back on the road and enjoying it.
