Very cool. Glad to see the updates Wayne.
Do you have heat in your garage? It's been getting cooler around here all of a sudden. Don't like it. lol |

Tony I bought a propane bullet heater from Home depot for $99. It actually works great, it goes from 40 to 60,000 BTU's and its not too loud. I had to get it my crew was going to mutiny if I didn't get heat in there... http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w...t/000_1002.jpg |
Rich Nothing yet on the paint. I'm still waiting for my buddy to shoot the paint SWAPMEETCRAZY sent me to see how it looks. I think it will be a while yet.

HHHMMMMMM-----do I notice a trend here---someone likes orange (or copper) ....even the heater....lol.......the heater would make a good place to lay that color sample down-then u could look at it all winter!!!!..........lol......jim:D :D
|
U beat me to the post...........jim
|
I think I'm going to go fire it up for an hour and do some work out there.

I almost bought a heater like that but my buddy has the torpedo heater and it keeps his small shop nice and warm. So I went that way.

Well here's a little update. I put some Howe tall ball joints and tie rod ends on the car. The only part thats was Tuff was taking a hammer to my newly powder coated spindles. BRRRRRRR! Here's a shot of them installed
http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w...s/000_1028.jpg Here you can see the tall tie rod end before I bolted it up, and the Kore 3 C6 Z51 brackets. Tobin has some awesome parts, very well made. http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w...s/000_1027.jpg I installed a set of Speed Tech aluminum hubs with 1/2 studs. http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w...s/000_1030.jpg I got some of Kore 3's braided brake lines 5 pieces and their new brackets for the big old style Ford bearings to install my Z 51 rear brakes. Its a custom kit because on the offset on my axles. Tobin sent me a shim kit and it fit perfect. Their not installed yet but hear's some pictures. http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w...s/000_1025.jpg http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w...s/000_1023.jpg I'll keep plugging away. |

Small update finished plumbing the front brakes and added the drop line for the rear end. Front brakes should be on for good. ( Hope I didn't jinx myself )
I'm pulling the rear out tomorrow so I can make up the brake lines for it and shim the brackets for the calipers then back in it goes. http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w...s/000_1033.jpg http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w...s/000_1032.jpg |

Wayne,
You have no idea how jealous I am that you are at this stage! It seems so far off for us! Everything is coming together great. Keep those pictures coming so the rst of us stay motivated! |
A little update. We pulled the rear out of the car today and I attached the Kore 3 brackets. ( Nice Stuff ) Then I started shimming the brake calipers, tedious because the axles offsets are not exact for this kit. Tobin was great answering all my many questions. I just came in from the garage almost 1 AM. But that part is done. Now it will be making up the brake lines for the rear end. Here are a few pictures.
http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w...s/000_1041.jpg That a big hole in there. http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w...s/000_1043.jpg http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w...s/000_1044.jpg http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w...s/000_1042.jpg http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w...s/000_1045.jpg This one I took from over my head. Amazing I think I'm better when I don't look what I'm doing. lol |
Wayne I thought you where running a QUADRA link setup???
|
No its a Ridetech G bar set up. The Quadralink was a bit out of my price range.

Friday I went to the garage with my buddy and we worked on plumbing the proportioning block into the Master cylinder and brake lines. He jumped into the engine bay and started bending and tweeking. I bought a full stainless line set from Inline Tube. But sense I'm using a Hydro boost and prop valve most everything under the hood didn't fit. I bought some copper Nickel lines because flaring the stainless is a night mare without the correct flare tool. We used the copper lines from the master to the prop block and one to the driver side front brake. The other lines we re bent and luckily they came out pretty good. I had to use brass adapters to make the lines fit the master and prop block. I may send the copper lines out and have some stainless lines coppied. Not sure yet.
Here's a couple of picture of what we did. http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w...s/000_1048.jpg The lines are up against the steering box in this picture but have been moved to clear it. You can see the two top copper Nikel lines and the one from the prop valve to the left brake. http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w...s/000_1052.jpg In the picture above these are the brass adapters I'm not too happy with I'd like to get the proper fittings and stainless lines. http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w...s/000_1050.jpg This is what it looks like from the front. We just need to make the bracket to hold the block. Let me know what you think |
