DETON8R 08-23-2014 08:53 PM

Hey John, saw the car today. Freak'in Awesome. Didn't see you though.

And I saw a tag on the console with an Innovation Award. Do tell when you have the details.

John510 08-24-2014 02:07 PM

Thanks. I wasn't able to make it out there today (its my Anniversary and wife said no cars today) but Chris From West Coast Auto Craft let me know that we won an Innovation award. Awesome!!! The car is coming out amazing. I can't wait to get a video of it at the tuner. Here are a couple of shots of it from the show. I probably should have taken them from a real camera since they came out a little dark with the iPhone.

Congratulations on the Award. Sorry I missed that show...sure would love to see that car move on its own power.

What's the deal with the hood prop holding up the hood? Did the hood hinge shocks go out already? How does the hood stay closed...I don't see the front hood latch?

Can't wait to see a Video of the car running and driving around.

Joe

John --- If you touch the screen on the iPhone where it's dark (or light) before taking the picture... it will adjust the light. So try just touching it in various places where there are light and dark spots and see what it does - and when you find the right "light" then snap the photo.

Car looks great and congrats on the award!

Thats an old car show trick....the hinge springs or shocks don't support the hood low enough to see both the engine and hood details. So you gotta prop.
We use to drill a hole in the hinge so you can install a temporary pin but after several damaged hoods from people forgetting about the pin it was a bad idea. Even with the remove before flight tag.

Car looks great and sounds even better John.

flashlight holder 09-14-2014 06:42 PM

I remembered after posting my comment that their are no shocks on the hood hinges. I still don't see any hood latch cut out in the new radiator support cover.

Can't wait to hear it run...

John510 09-14-2014 07:08 PM

There is no hood latch (well visible at least). Its a secret on how it stays closed. :headscratch:

We did end up taking home another award at a small local show. WooHoo!!!

Congratulation's John The car came out great.

Congrats on the awards, John!

Looking at that last trophy I feel educated; I didn't realize that someone was producing Camaros and Firebirds in 1964...

John510 01-31-2015 11:46 AM

Its been a while so I figured I would post some updates. The Holley EFI and RFID kit are all sorted out finally. The dual throttle bodies are working also. Spintech exhaust installed and all spark plug coils, wiring, etc is hidden in the cowl. E-stop emergency brake installed. Oh and SHE FIRES NOW! I'll have a sound clip soon.

Didnt go up there yet. Your right I just realized that I do not have any subframe connectors. My car is going to twist the first time I rip on it.

Nice Pics !!

Thank you for update photos!!

Interesting way to route the plug wires. Hadn't thought of that. Definitely hides the coils and wires.

I recall that you were looking for photos to route the exhaust out the back of the car. Are those dumps at the axle permanent?

OK, here's the never ending question, when does it drive??!!??

Sorry Man, had to ask... Thanks again for the PICS !!

CHEERS !!

Al Moreno 02-01-2015 03:24 PM
