That sounds like the story of a husband a wife as the age..... Greg is that true? :D |
Quote:
Well... let's just say that at my age I'm more interested in a good nights sleep... :D |

I am a FULL 5 and one half inches taller than Devito..... |

Come on guys.............Quit picking on Shorty!
|
Short has it's advantages.... When I fall I have a lot less distance (think triangle) to gain velocity...
Got some drawings of a similar trailer today - and the head room in the bedroom is 76".... I'm only 65 (and one half!) inches so think about that! I can jump and not hit my head! I could almost put my hands over my head to put a shirt on... Short has a couple disadvantages --- when I was getting in and out of my buddy Mikes NASCAR this last weekend - you had to go through the window... and my feet wouldn't touch the ground - that made it a little more difficult... :D |

I've been drivin' all night, my hand's wet on the wheel
There's a voice in my head, that drives my heel It's my baby callin', says, "I need you here" Ans it's half past four, and I'm shifting gear..... :woot: Radir love..... |
No more speed, I'm almost there
Gotta keep cool now, gotta take care Last car to pass, here I go And the line of cars drove down real slow radar love  |
And here I thought they were always singing about those fancy wheels....
Were Radir's made by INTRO?  |

For you Greg, only for you! Radir' love... |
Coz we got a great big convoy rockin' thru the night
Yeah we got a great big convoy aint she a beautiful sight Come on and join our convoy aint nothin' gonna get in our way We gonna roll this truckin' convoy across the USA Convoy :lateral: |
Just got word the truck is scheduled for September 3rd completion....
I'm still waiting for final drawings on the trailer - and since I just asked them to make it a stacker -- I was the one that tossed the grenade in that schedule... |

If you want to pit in style I have this nice 14'-3" x 21' custom size Karastan woven wool rug I'd like to find a home for. :unibrow:
|
OMG! Charley would be in hysterics if I showed up with that and rolled it out...

Here is the lady that hand stitched the rug, she has worked for Karastan in Eden, NC for over 50 years. http://sieg.smugmug.com/photos/765999764_2XsP9-M.jpg |
Why does she need a hammer to make a rug??
:D |

If you touch the rug before you pay you get your fingers hit with hammer.

Trailer guys -- Poulsen's Trailer Sales in Logan Utah -- says the trailer should be done by the first week in October....
I have a driving event (in the R8) - at INDE Motorsports Park in AriDzona late October - so if it all works out I might pick up the truck there (AriDzona) and take it to Indiana to pick up the trailer... We'll see. Sounds good now - but that time of year can be a bit hectic. |
Goose neck trailer tips - what a joke
For most of on this site and many others it is bumper pull and goosenecks.... we got sucked in alot by the title...thus the original answers. At is was made clear in the answers money no object. Great for you. Come to NC and get a used meg RV moving house...bigger than mine real house and a hauler... they are all over here. Have some one drive it so you and the wife can take the back roads, This is not a gooseneck trailer conversation. That is for the working folks like me.

Would you like me to go back and change the title to: Question for "cost no object guys" only... Let me refer you to the Off Topic Forums -- start reading the INVESTING 102 thread... follow the instructions in there and maybe you'll be able to quit working and buy a bigger trailer? |

BTW -- if you go back 18 MONTHS to the first post... you'll see that the original question was about a trailer (gooseneck) that I could tow using my F-350 Dually. What I ended up with some 55 pages of info later - was what I wanted, and I used much of the info learned in this thread to help shape my thinking. My hope is that others learned from it too... and had some fun along the way... and when they see me at an event (which many many folks on here do) they might even feel they had a hand in my new rig and get some joy in seeing it. Several people on here will also no doubt benefit from it at some event. They may need to take a shower - grab a cold beverage - or a hot cup of coffee... or just rest their weary bones... or maybe their wives might have a nice place to sit out of the sun and it makes their weekend a little better...  |
Umm...as well written as that response was GW, I really see no need. Dude's bud lite was flat today. Tomorrow it'll be better :lateral:

Greg, I for one don't care if you have two nickel to rub together or you are the richest guy in the world, I love that you come on here and tell it like it is, you help where you can (investing 101) I've heard of where you tell someone that wasn't asking for anything for free to come and get it it's yours! You are one of the good guys and some day I hope to get to meet you and shake your hand, because from what I've seen and heard you would give your shirt or what ever to someone that needed it! I think you and bunch of other's are what make this the best site on the net!!!!!! For some people they just don't get it!! |

Thanks Rick! In the last 3 or so years I've built complete cars for people that couldn't otherwise... My buddy that had a stroke so couldn't physically... and my brother in law that just doesn't have the time or the dough - so I picked up the tab and the many hours of work... as you know it ain't easy building this stuff. Yes -- I believe in the Republican and Democratic system.... I generally vote Republican (although did vote for Obama! :( ) so that I can afford to be Democratic.:D I am always happy to donate stuff I'm not using -- or make an extra special friend deal on something. I'm more than thrilled that I am in a position to do that - because I know everyone may not be so lucky. And I've even sponsored a couple cars around here with parts or cash... I think it's just the right thing to do. My brother in law just got his car ('69 Camaro) back on Sunday.... and I got my Nomad back too! Gave it to them to drive since their car was here for over a year (16 months to be exact). Rudy's went from this.... http://i919.photobucket.com/albums/a...o/IMG_0718.jpg To this...... http://i919.photobucket.com/albums/a...aro/file-2.jpg They're pretty happy I can "afford" my time and my funds to help them out.... |
Your a solid dude Weld
And that comes from personal experience. Before I even ever met Greg he offered a sponsership to me. Unfortunately I didn't get the opportunity to take him up on it but you get the picture. |
You sir are a gentlemen
|
Greg, if you do need a driver...I'm just down the 405 and have my CDL. Haven't used it in awhile, truck drivers don't make enough money!
69znc, I'm a workin folk and got sucked into the thread, hell I even tried spending his money. He's got lots, big deal. He and just about everyone on here are car guys, some have money some don't. So ya got duped by a thread title, it's not the end of the world.:willy: When I get back from Bonneville I'll start a thread on blue collar tow rigs, no kidding. I'm in the market for a newer rig and would like some real world feedback. Dan |

The SALES PEOPLE are telling me that this will be registered as a RECREATIONAL VEHICLE and I shouldn't need a CDL... We'll see. I'm okay with getting a CDL but that would be more based on what my INSURANCE man says I should have (he's a buddy). I'm not a guy that try's to make his own rules. I'm fine doing what is CORRECT. |

http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...y2011078-1.jpg It sure feels like it every morning at 5:30 when I get up to head to the shop and every night when I get home at 6pm and I'm dog tired and fall asleep on the couch after dinner. And just to be clear it is well established that Greg is NOT a "working man". Ok maybe 3 days a week when that trainer gets let in the front gate of the Weld compound and escorted up to the work out room on the 5th floor of the guest house for Greg and Gwen to do their work outs. But Todd told me he heard on good stock market days, Greg pays someone to do his sit ups for him. That's just what I heard. |
