2nd Chance Camaro - Goodmark Fuel Tank
2013 03-13 Update -Goodmark Fuel Tank
www.2ndchancecamaro.com

Good Morning All,

Okay, as most of you already have guessed I am way behind on posting updates. Let's just say the last 9 months
have been really fun (sarcasm). Chemotherapy is finally over and it's time to bring you guys up-to-date on the
car. As for my health everything looks good and so far all of my test have come back perfect. Good news!

Now back to our regular scheduled Updates.
Since we are running a Carburetor on the car I ordered up a Goodmark Industries stock replacement tank from Summit
Racing. I also ordered all new hardware to install the Tank. Summit Racing has sure received a bunch of my money in
the last year. You can't beat there service and pricing.

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...06d7e49-me.jpg

I really like seeing Made in the USA & Made In Canada.

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...07697b1-me.jpg

Kenny will make the necessary modifications on the front of the tank for the fuel line and the Edelbrock electric fuel pump. The Fuel Pump
will be mounted on the tank directly behind the differential. Moving the lines to the front of the tank is much safer then having them coming
out of the back of the tank and being exposed.

On the power Tour several years ago a car with a low hanging fuel tank & rear exiting fuel lines caught on fire after it gently rear ended at
a stop light. Moving to lines to the top or front of the tank is much safer location.

Thanks Mike,

Been trying to get out at least 2 days a week. But the weather here has been very very wet which has wiped out the trails. Hoping to get out tomorrow because the spin bike in my basement is going to be te death of me.

2nd Chance Camaro - A Few NOS Parts
2013 03-13 Update - A Few NOS Parts
www.2ndchancecamaro.com

Good Morning All,

Trying to keep up with the Made in America theme I searched the internet and found all of the NOS parts I needed. Tom at
Courtyard Camaro was a great help. If it's for a 2nd gen Camaro he has it our can point you in the right direction.

Nice looking stuff

I am sure that was cheap. LOL

NOS stuff always fits the best and worth the extra cash in my opinion.

I searched for a NOS Cowl hood but couldn't find one. So Kenny grabbed a GoodMark cowl hood for me.

glassman 03-23-2013 10:58 AM

I don't believe they ever made a stock cowl hood for a 2nd gen. Correct me if I'm wrong? My cowl was grafted on from a chevelle SS hood, it has no "line" down the middle.

Not sure either.

I've always like fit & quality of goodmarks hood. So the plan was to buy there hood from the getgo

Good Morning All,

Keeping with the goal to purchase as many bolt on as possible I ordered the direct fit LS swap radiator with fan kit for 2nd Gen
Camaro's. It's a great looking piece and very affordable and it will save time and reduce my fabrication costs.

I love the old school Edelbrock Air Cleaner however it just won't work for this project. Maybe I'll do a street rod so I can finally use it.

Okay Chad is correct. I am way way behind in posting. I would say at least 30 posts. But I promise we will show finished pictures before Columbus. Hopefully sooner.

ps I need to get that Kenny guy to send me more pictures and he's taken his picture skills to the next level by taking them with his iPhone.

Thank you very much Mike were getting closer. Kenny just opened his 3rd body shop which is awesome. So he has been really busy. But the car is still getting worked on.

Sema yep I am going and I am even going to spend the weekend mountain biking and site seeing this year. So without a doubt we need to hook up.

glassman 04-13-2013 07:29 AM

I was actually thinking of driving down to Vegas this year rather than flying, if that's the case.....I could bring my mountain bike and barge in...how would u get it there?

Driving the car out there with the bike on it? Be brave lol

I drove home in 2010 and I swore I would never do it again. 1732 miles in a Camaro was fun till I needed a nap. When I got home I was so sore I laid in the hot-tub for an hour.

Ok to be serious most likely it will get hauled out there in Kenny's trailer and the bike will be on the side. I am trying to find another frame like the bike I ride and build a 2nd bike just for the car. So I will always have a bike on the car.

I do have a bike for the car but it's a hard tail and I am fairly certain my surgeon would tell me not to ride the bike.

SlowProgress 04-13-2013 10:02 PM

Bike mount details please

Marty,

Love the build. When you catch up on the posts could you show a little detail on the MTB mount. Riding is my second love and it would be cool to put something like that on my 67. Sometimes it helps to see an idea close up to get the juices flowing. I have been riding more than working on the car. In a weird way seeing your bike mount got me out in the garage - go figure !!

2nd Chance Camaro - High Speed Welding Bike Rack
2013 04-11 2nd Chance Camaro - High Speed Welding Bike Rack
www.2ndchancecamaro.com

Good Evening All,

Here is an inside look at the "B" Pillar.

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...1cb08b3-me.jpg

Once all of the welding was complete Joe added a final plate to increase strength.

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...d29bfa9-me.jpg

There was already a hole in the quarter panel from the antenna so we decided that the rear mount would use the existing hole.

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...019b21d-me.jpg

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...3f4cce7-me.jpg

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...2b61fd0-me.jpg

The mount is then bolted to the bung which exits the quarter panel.

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...5105810-me.jpg

We used the existing brackets from Rockymounts to anchor the tray to our bracket.

http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...7d28e03-me.jpg

Both mounts are removable and once removed all that is left is the bung.

I have the same problem you do. I am torn between working on my car or my bikes. Then you add riding into the mix and it really screws everything up.

Thanks again for your compliments on the build.
