Ron just so you know I picked up the old 9 inch from your car yesterday. You have some more money to spend on your car. Good luck with the build. Thanks!

Aarik

Ron in SoCal 11-09-2011 10:09 AM

Thx Aarik! I have a couple more things you could use if you're interested! How about a build thread on your sweet 68?

So true Skip, but this will not be a rock star build. Just some JCG Pro touches that exceed my capability/vision...

you all keep filling up gonzos shop with your stuff and im never going to be able to get my car painted:mad:. maybe with la nina he can just put yours outside for a while.

looks good though and i cant wait to see it done. and i need to go back through and find your motor specs so i can stop stressing over my build.

Cris@JCG 11-10-2011 05:49 PM

Ron- Throw away your project plan.. I work better without one.. Look what happen with Blu Balz! :D

Tim- I will boot Ron out when you decide for the car to come over to paint!

Ron, your build is coming along beautifully. I'm very excited for you and the progress you're making. Love the color choice. A lot of best-of-breed parts going into it along with great design and craftsmanship. Can't wait to see you driving and thrashing on it soon. I hope also to catch up with you soon at an upcoming SoCal event.

Ricochet 11-19-2011 10:05 AM

Outstanding build!! Everything about it. Much like yourself I'm looking forward to see this finished. You are in good hands with Cris!!

Cris@JCG 11-19-2011 03:35 PM

Got the engine mounts & transmission support modified today.. Build headers on Monday... We got all the underside plumbing done this week..

Uh Cris....Your suppose to bolt it together...not unbolt it! :D Looks like the tranny tunnel is cut out of it now...What are you doing??

It's about time we got an update!! J/k, lookin' good guy's

OVRKILL 11-20-2011 05:21 AM

Gotta love negative progress to get a little positive  ....

Cris@JCG 11-20-2011 09:00 AM

Brent- Their were a few things that Ron & I wanted to improve before final set-up.. We are changing the sub-frame bushings to get the car lower about 1/2.. Wanted to run the tranny angle @ 2.5 degrees.. easier to do with sub out.. Had a small issue with motor mounts.. Wanted to mock up headers.. All these things justified me pulling the sub out.. Plus we work alot faster.. Tranny tunnel is being modified for new angle on tranny..

Ain't that right there the truth! Been there - done that. Keep your eye on the prize Ron - it's all good. I'm just glad someone else decided to do it ass-backwards. I mean re-engineering the car before paint - where's the challenge in that?! At least Chris was able to lend you some PJ's for your car - I'm looking for the touch-up paint and I've never seen second gear yet lol!

Happy Turkey Day and see you Friday at Del Mar bud!

Gregg

You are so right Toddski. It's a sickness I tellya... Gotta stop sooner or later (sooner), but I'm shooting for good pedal control.

Vegas69 12-09-2011 08:51 PM

Brakes is something I'm still working on after all this time and my biggest weakness. Let me know how it works out.

Ron in SoCal 12-09-2011 08:58 PM

Will do Bro. Prob gonna look to you to help me sort it out...

Matt@BOS 12-09-2011 09:38 PM

Ron, what sizes did you spec for the master cylinders? I've got 7/8" front and rear; pedal travel is negligible. You sorta just stomp on it to stop. It is great for speed stop style runs and big tracks, because you can't just lock up the brakes accidentally. However, next time I want to see what a 3/4" front 7/8" rear feels like.

Matt

Same as you Matt, 7/8" fr and rr. I followed Cris' reccomendation on this - and I'm pretty sure this is the correct starting point - but this triple stuff is new to me...
