Hey AJ,

Just checking to see how you're doing. If you need someone to talk to about the Thyroid cancer. Reach out as that was my first cancer and I have learned a bunch over the years.

also we need more pictures of the car.

Thanks Don, that's awesome.

Hey guys, thanks for checking on me! Surgery went well and they got everything cut out. Follow up a week later with the surgeon and got the all clear to do whatever I want to.

I did get my diffuser mounted so I can start getting it body worked to the car. Pretty happy with the overall fit and look of it. I also did a little more work on the driver door panel. I needed to skim coat the foam because the fiberglass resin attached it and melted. Skim coat to get the rough shape of the fiberglass and then I'll final body work the whole panel to get it ready for leather. I still have to 3D print a arm rest and door open button mount, but baby steps.

Glad to hear the positive news on the surgery.

I'm slacking on the updates again. I don't feel like I get a lot done to bother with updating anything and then before I know it I'm way behind.

Anyways, I'm gonna skip around a little bit as to when I got this stuff done. I'll pick up where I left off with the interior. Driver door panel has been body worked, and epoxied. Arm rests modeled up with test prints done and then the final prints done and ready to get wrapped in leather. I'm using door buttons from a Cadillac CTS to activate the C6 door latches. I also modeled up mount so the arm rest is tied to the door and not the door panel for strength. Passenger side is almost caught up with just the body work left to do on it. I also modeled up door pulls that sandwich the armrest to the door mount so everything is tight. I'll have those machined out of aluminum.

As I've gotten better at CAD I've revisited some of my earlier work and redid it. I'm pretty happy with the rear brake ducts now. They are mocked up to check fit and make any adjustments I needed before a final print.

I have the powertrain out so I could make brake and fuel lines. Since I don't need it back in the car for anything I went ahead and painted everything. The rear diff. was taken all apart and blasted before being put back together. Transmission blasted, torque tube and bell housing all blasted and painted. I went with a matte silver on it. I also painted the extra suspension control arm parts I have, accessory drive, engine mounts in a custom matte bronzeish color. The supercharger and engine got shot in gloss black with a red supercharger lid. The I installed offset control arm bushings in what I had to save some time later. New PWR intercooler bricks installed and then the engine all reassembled for the last time. Installed a Katech LT5 dual disk clutch to finish up that part of things.

The rear diff. also got new AN fittings and a stainless cooler line bent up.

A little bit of the fuel, vacuum line, and brake lines. I'm running ABS so lots of brake lines. The vacuum line is for the exhaust valves. I also made a canister/manifold for the line to the rear, engine, booster, and vacuum pump and 3D printed a mount for it. With the bottom buttoned up I finished drilling all 38 holes for the torque tube tunnel plate.

I finished the floors with a layer of carbon fiber to add some extra strength to the areas I sectioned and just make them look better over all before clear coating them. They'll get bonded back in and seam sealed before I raptor line the rest of the bottom of the car.

I modeled up a license plate lamp for my bumper and got that 3D printed. Since the C6 dash has a trunk and fuel release button I only needed one of them, so I modeled up a new mount for that and 3D resin printed that. I'll paint it black to match the black I'll get the dash wrapped in.

Amazing attention to detail.

I am curious what the purpose of the offset control arm bushings is.

camcojb 12-28-2025 06:16 PM

Very nice work. Thanks for sharing.

Originally they are used to get more negative camber. If I did the full upper and lower set I could run -4 to -5 degrees of it if I wanted to. I'm only running the uppers to move the wheel in about 3/8" at the top of the tire. I'm already stretching that body out super far so I'll take anything I can get. It should still put me into a -2.5 to -3 range which is where I would like it to be.

Fantastic update! Glad you're making headway. I like the color selection for the drivetrain.
