More pics. The last one was his inspiration I guess lol. He has a TV in the booth and that's what he was watching.

Oh that's looking sweet Jody!

Three rounds of blocking on the passenger side, lines are really looking good. Drivers side is next, should be faster.

Who is Jim?
What's the background story on Jim? Seems to work on one car at a time in his own shop/booth and I've seen a couple of other cars he's done over the years so I can see why you took your car to him. Maybe he's super private or it's a well kept secret but I was just wondering who he is?

I remembered several 'browns' being considered but didn't know if you narrowed the options yet. |
BMW, caddy, Nova
those are my choices, but, like it matters, |

My safe choice right now is the BMW. Will be darker than I initially envisioned, but I think it'll look great. |

BMW has three browns that are similar. First two are Pyrite brown, second two are Marrakesh brown, and final two are Macadamia brown. I'm leaning towards Pyrite brown.
|
Nice colors
Pyrite has a dark flop to it in the shade. Almost looks black. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rx-UzFEiZz0 |

I was going to say, I don't think Marrakesh would look good in the shade. I'm almost certain I have seen this color around here and it looks like pooh when there's no sun.
Have you seen Porsche's Cognac that they used on Panameras a generation ago? Might be too gold for your tastes, but I always thought that color was amazing. Glad to see progress on the car. |

A couple other Porsche colors. First one is Chestnut brown metallic (color changes a lot depending on light and angle) and the last three are Copper brown metallic.

I think this is a great color for a Protouring build.
|
Ever think of white ?
|
Picking paint colors is the hardest decision. The copper-brown metallic is a gorgeous color. I really like your idea with the browns on your car. Think it will look stunning when done.

Don't laugh, Mazda has a color called Melting Copper on the CX70 or 90. I saw this last weekend. It's stunning. It may be too copper for you though.
I think the last two Porsche colors you selected look great. I'll keep an eye out. The Porsche dealer is less than two miles from my house. |

That is a cool color. Need to see it in person.

That’s been my dilemma with a lot of the browns, bronzes, copppers… in a certain light they are amazing, but in regular day to day they lose the pop.
I think that’s where all the effort in the bodywork makes a difference. Jeff- |
Porsche Chesnut Brown Metallic
FWIW I love the Porsche Chestnut brown metallic!
Especially if you went with some black centered wheels like in the picture... |

Jim is going to do a larger spray out for me, but I think I'm going to decide on the Porsche H8Z Chestnut brown metallic. Looks great in the sun and under shop lights. Flops dark in the shade, but so does every other brown I like. Seems closest to that Yenko Nova Cadillac color I originally think I had on the El Camino I got to drive in high school, without the reddish copper penny flop when the sun was not directly on it in the last pic here. To me it's hard to believe that the two Nova pics below are the same car. The Porsche color is like a more modern softer browner color than the first Yenko Nova pic. I need to make a decision and stick with it lol.
|
I think you're making a good choice!
|
You should build a matching Nova...
