Sonar Chief 12-22-2017 04:22 PM

Nothing to see here, really!

Hey guys I appreciate the requests for updates, however I don't have anything to update. Having the car stored safely in Kevin's shop is a great thing as I don't have any room to store let alone work on my car here, hopefully real soon I can have a 2 car garage with an attached house :confused59:

Hope all peoples have a Merry Christmas and some good family time!!!

I've actually been working on my car, I'm trying to catch up to you.......lol

You want a two car garage with an attached HOUSE? If that is your perspective you need a bigger garage! Dream big my friend! :D

I might look for a 3 car but **** is expensive in Denver!

Was looking back at the RUST my Camaro had when I started I thought I might share some pics in case some of you hadn't seen the beginning ....

https://imagizer.imageshack.com/v2/1.../120330175.jpg
If you think patching a corner of the door will fix the rust think again!!

https://imagizer.imageshack.com/v2/1.../120610846.jpg
Looking up into the quarter from the trunk!

https://imagizer.imageshack.com/v2/1...1212161646.jpg
The door pillar where a mouse house was sitting on the shelf, yuck!

https://imagizer.imageshack.com/v2/1...1304262080.jpg
Yeah seam sealer in the trunk ... what a waste of time!

https://imagizer.imageshack.com/v2/1...5/12021110.jpg

https://imagizer.imageshack.com/v2/1...0/854/zbdg.jpg
Big blob of DVM ...

https://imagizer.imageshack.com/v2/1...90/39/beoz.jpg
Causes the quarter to rust out .. grrrr!

https://imagizer.imageshack.com/v2/1...743/5i1e4z.jpg
This pic makes me cringe!!!

https://imagizer.imageshack.com/v2/1...909/oMo9bh.jpg
Side tulip rust, making me sick to my stomach ....

https://imagizer.imageshack.com/v2/1...922/VV0Urx.jpg
Both sides looked like this ... yours does too!

https://imagizer.imageshack.com/v2/1...922/HuHBi7.jpg
IF you don't replace your roof it will keep rusting ....

So that's why my OCD took over and I replaced all the metal ... lipstick on a pig doesn't cover up the pig, lol!

https://imagizer.imageshack.com/v2/1...924/ID0vkH.jpg
One of my favorite pictures ... post rust of course!

Nice work Chief, you are doing it the right way. I'm in the middle of a similar situation on my project. I replaced the entire floor from toe boards to the tail lights. At this rate our cars will out live us. :headscratch:

It's nice to take a step back and recap on occasion. Documenting the build process is excellent because you can see the steps, time and materials invested that gets forgotten once everything looks pretty. For me the odd pause to reflect gives me perspective and makes staying motivated to keep moving forward much easier.

Same here

More I explored more rust I found.. ended up with just roof and quarters everything else was cut out and replaced

I'd be suspicious of 'what's under the roof' just saying from experience its not pretty if the rest of the car needed repair!
