Hey Todd, in my experience, usually when you make hp jumps like this, you find the weak links in the powertrain pretty quick. Are you worried about the TKO 600 tranny handling past 500-600 ft.lbs?

Nope, if it breaks I'll replace it.:D That t56 magnum looks interesting. I'm only exceeding the rating by 41 ftlbs. The block was only tested to 650hp in GM endurance testing and I'm 16.7 hp over that as well. Rules were made to broken. haha

Love that kind of talk.

The TKO has held up at power levels way above 600.

It was more from curiosity that I asked. Hurst drivelines rates them at 600 ft.lbs so I wanted to see if they have a good reliability at or over that mark.

I asked the same questions before I got mine and felt very comfortable exceeding that rating. Due to the 1st gear ratio, I do wish I had gone with a T56 (or the new Magnum T56 now available) FWIW.

I'm putting 700ft-lbs through my TKO with no issues so far.

Car looks awesome...I'm jealous of how light that aluminum block is.

Most if not all manufactures will rate their equipment below what it can take. After all they have to warranty the product. The old test it till it breaks then give a 20% safety margin.

I bought a TKO 600 Extreme from American Powertrain -- cryo-hardened gear sets and shafts. It is "rated" to 1000 hp. I haven't had a chance to abuse it yet, but when I do I will let you know how it does. Right now I'm on my way out to the Bull Ring to see how Todd does at the autocross.

Congrats on getting to this point Todd! I am looking forward to hearing how the autocross goes. Nice work. And again, thanks for posting so much detail on how you are tuning and getting things dialed in.

Just got back from watching Todd at the SCCA autocross. Car looked great and sounded even better. Todd did a nice job on the course -- one of the top 2 or 3 cars. He should be really fast when he gets a slightly loose situation cleared up. He had his camera mounted so he should have good videos.
