Payback is ready to be loaded up on the trailer. I just need to wipe her down. I bought new brake pads with different compounds front and back. Unfortunately I have to shim every caliper differently to fit these pads and I simply didn't have enough shims after installing the front pads. Dad and I went out to fill her up with gas and bed the new front pads. The brakes were as good befor bedding as the old pads were bedded! They are definitely a huge step in the right direction. I can't wait to get the rears on and get rid of these crummy Wilwood pads. I'll have more front brake come Saturday. I wish the back pads were on but that will give me something to look forward to next race.

Hey Todd, Im curious who's brake pads/compound you switched to. Is the braking performance good when cold? You have wilwood 6 pot superlites up front and 4s in the back- correct?

BTW- outstanding job on the engine- looks awesome

Thanks Rich

I figured you were traveling so I will field the

brake pad question.

He switched to Carbotech XP10's up front and will be running there AX6's in the rear. Carbotech is known for having agressive pads that are easy on rotors.

I have not run a set of the XP10's, but I am runnng the AX6's on all corners. That is their autocross pad. I use it as my street pad as well. A little dusty and get the smallest amount of squeal on light stops. Great cold bite pad, has a .52 CF cold. My car has never stopped better.

I am looking for Todd to give me feedback on the XP10's as that is a track pad...that he is driving on the street.

Looking forward to updates from this weekend.

Hey Guys, I'm over here at DFresh's(Doug's) after a day of driving school at El Toro. The car has some serious bite up front now with virtually no heat. I did run around this morning looking for an ATM and they are pretty noisy. Not squeaky but grindy. Today went great with a mix or acceleration to stopping in a box, apex training, and a really cool road course. Tomorrow is going to be a blast.

Thanks for the update. Looking forward to your review of the driving school and what your next plans are for the car after the shake down.

Remember....smooth is fast.
