Speaking of that, I also meant to find out when you were going but got distracted before the weekend and forgot to post here beforehand. Is your shop open normal business hours through the week? I'd love to pop in and say hey.

I meant to try and bump into CamaroAJ at the show too, but same story...

All us Central Ohio guys should do lunch or dinner or something one day.

Ben,

I am with you here! That thing was Bitchin. I tried to talk to the guy, but he was always engaged. I know why! If you dig anything up, let me know. Loved it!

Agreed, I have thrown away boxes of trophys. I get tired of trying to keep them clean!

I guess I comfortable enough with my position in the universe and do not need a trophy for reassurance.

Actaully the only judging I like at all is 3 to 5 judges and 1000 point score sheets you recieve back to see what they took points for. Putting 3 to 5 judges on a car that don't talk to one another HELPS remove politics. Pointing at a car from a golf cart and calling it a winner.................not for me.

I could not agree with you two more. Things in this industry need to change and change fast or there is no point in bringing cars to shows. We can all just go to hang out and BS. This is the problem with Goodguys and the way they pick things, every year we have gone the top cars are not always picked. There is no point in building a car over a few years to take to a show and have a guy in a golf cart pass you by. Cars with bad gabs, stock style suspensions and mild interiors should not be up for the SMOTY but what do we know as builders. These cars always seem to make the top 5 and the same builders seem to make the top 5 every year. I guess the saying goes it’s not what you know but who you know and until they change that no point in even bringing cars out. Every year it gets worse and soon people won’t want to attend because it’s all politics and we get enough of that in the news every day don’t we? Goodguys is more of the buddy system so if you are buddies with them they will find a place for your car to be in the top 5 and get you right up front at every show you do. How about we get back to the good o days when the guy who builds the best car wins. The Detroit Auto Rama is the same way now not even worth taking a car to the show if you went this year you know what I am talking about. Half the cars there should not have been contenders.

There has been post after post here about the bad gaps in the DSE car how did they make the top 5 again? and again? I think they should pic 10 top builders and let them pick with out talking to one another. The one with the most votes wins.

Ya that is me in the ball cap.

ROFL! Too funny! I remember those alternators. They put out like 30-50 amps or something. Really neat. I didn't listen to the whole conversation, I just saw when he pointed and was curious about what he saw.

I really wish I would have said something now. I wanted to talk palm trees and hot rods. I've only made it 200 miles west so far, but Cali is the "End Point" on my map.

Does that SROY Ford even have head or taillights? Those seem like they might be important for a car.

They're hide-aways, like an older Vette. One of the pics I posted shows it. It's what the whole pic is about - just a shot of the fender/grille area with a small disc-shaped door (headlights). I have a couple shots of the back from ground level, but the hidden tail lights aren't obvious.

Its got headlight. they pop out of the front fenders.
I canot see or find where the taillights are!
