Good stuff there to building your own racing sim cockpit!

I would paint it flat black and add some custom touches here and there.

You can actually buy a number of manufactured racing cockpits.

Obutto has to one of the most popular right now. Starts a little north of $300 and has options for triple-monitor mounts.

I'd love to go the cockpit direction, but I'll be sim racing from the computer desk in my living room until I can evict a couple of my kids. :D

Lino,
I need some help with the mustang. Its a bit tricky to drive.
I hear your the expert

Psydwaze 11-21-2010 06:16 PM

Sorry, for being slow on the reply.

I wouldn't say expert, but I'm fairly competitive.

Mustang Tips:
  • Brake early and roll off brake to trail brake to the apex
  • Get on the throttle to get it to rotate
  • Get on the throttle earlier to go faster

Check out this video. Watch the meters to see rolling off the brake.

It's real easy to over drive this car, meaning going too deep into the corner. You lose lots of time by braking too late, missing the apex, and then getting back on the throttle late. If you can't turn in enough to get to the apex, back up your braking point. Slow in fast out is very important. Trail braking and throttle are the only way to get this thing to turn.

For set up I've been running pretty soft for more grip; soft front bar and no rear bar on most tracks and ride height pretty high to take some curb without upsetting the car.

Are you running the Mustang series this season?
