Thanks. Your are correct. There is a mountain bike hanging. Nothing special, but it gets my ass out doing something

Norco - Love the bike and on top of that it's bad ass looking.

waynieZ 05-03-2017 08:24 PM

Getting back in the garage next week, I ordered some parts and getting over my three weeks with double pneumonia.

scherp69 08-04-2017 12:02 PM

Well it happened. A buddy of mine dropped off his trailer on Tuesday night.

I also thought I'd post a pic of a new car I bought last year. It's a 2017 Ford Fusion sport. Snappy little car. 320 hp and 380 tq. Helps fill a void until my car is done lol.

This is awesome and I love the Fusion !!!!

aany001 08-05-2017 09:57 AM

Mike that is huge for you bro. Gotta dig in your heels and push through it. It's a damn roller coaster ride building these cars but well worth it in the end. Take it from me. As you know 11 years for my build but driving the wheels off it!!! Real happy for you and all the best.
Keep the pics coming.

Steve

Thanks Marty. Yeah I quite like the Fusion. It's a total sleeper. I'll end up getting a tune for it also. There are a couple good ones out now for it.

Thanks Steve. I'm getting pretty excited to get it back. I know he's already started working on it which is nice. I've told him no rush, but can't wait to get it back. And yes it will be a huge hurdle done with. I'm glad I decided to do this as I don't know if I would have ever made any progress if I didn't. I was stuck and really didn't know where to go with it. Can't wait to enjoy mine like you are. Keep looking at your pics on instagram. Love the car!!!

waynieZ 08-05-2017 08:44 PM

Great news Mike, glad to see it getting worked on. How far from home is it? Is it close enough so you can go peek in once in a while, you know we like pictures..

Thanks Wayne. It's about an hour away. Close but not close enough that I could drop in really easily. I Hope to head out there on my next set of days off. I know he's already working on it as he's been messaging me with any questions as he goes along.

WSSix 08-08-2017 09:23 AM

That's a big step. Congrats, Mike!

69 Pilot 08-09-2017 12:50 PM

Looks

Smoky outside! You must live near me, mind you I think all of BC is one big campfire right now.
Don't give up, your doing better than me. I've had my camaro for 16 yrs and driven maybe 4 of those years between teardowns and mods.
Come to the realization it doesn't have to be perfect, just need to get out and drive!

Yes all of BC is very smoky. And I just found out yesterday that I'm being deployed to go work the fire zones for a week starting next Saturday so will be even closer to the smoke. Oh well will be good money for the car. Where in BC are you? I'm in the loops.

Update:

It's been a long time since it looked like this

Well said and that is why my 70 Camaro has satin Paint on it. Because I want to be able to lean or heck even lay on the fender and not worry about it

scherp69 08-25-2017 02:37 PM

Thanks guys.

A picture I took when I went to check out the car. Going to pick the car up on Wednesday if I can get my buddy's truck.

It still needs quite a bit of work in the body. The gaps need to be finished up and lots of block sanding, etc. Main thing I wanted to do was get it back looking like a car and now it does. I know that all the panels fit and we won't have any issues when it comes to getting it painted. Next up is to try and get as much done on the car as I can with mechanical, interior, etc. Have already been pricing out parts haha. Order coming soon :)

IndyNova 08-31-2017 10:13 AM

Looking badass!! Have enjoyed this build

waynieZ 08-31-2017 12:53 PM

It looks good Mike. Are you doing the gaps, or will they get done at paint time?

Thanks Wayne. For now I'm not going to worry about the gaps. Not sure if I want to take a chance on doing them. Probably will just leave them for when it gets painted.

scherp69 02-01-2021 02:28 PM

Well It’s a bittersweet day, but I ended up selling the car today. Sometimes life throws you some curves. I ended up splitting up with my wife about 15 months ago and the reality is I didn’t know when I’d be in a position to work on the car again, so I made the choice to sell it. I can use the cash a lot more than I can a car that’s just collecting dust. So once I am able to buy a new house with a shop, I will get another one. But until then, I plan on enjoying life and working my ass off at work to buy that house. I’ve also cancelled photobucket so the photo unfortunately will disappear lol. Thanks everyone for all the views and comments.

Steve68 02-01-2021 03:12 PM

Bummer Mike, sorry to hear that, but I completely understand, I'm in the same boat here!

Sheck44 02-01-2021 03:56 PM

Same ...

Same here Mike ... Just fortunate enough during these times that I dont have to sell anything (yet !!)

Cheers
Steve

I feel for you as I know how much we all enjoy working on our cars and sharing what we do with other members here. The cat is only a thing but the friendship we make on these sites is what really matters. If you want I can host all your pictures on GarageScene for you and all you would have to do is relink them.

Sometimes things happen in our lives that we can’t understand at that moment. I divorced my first wife years ago. Married my current wife 20+ years ago and now I have two beautiful daughters, a very small dog and a wonderful wife and a really nice garage.

I’m not sure my life with my first wife would be anything like the life I have now. I thankful for the way my life has turned out.

Good luck to you, Mike. Life isn't always easy. I think the greatest thing about it is every day is a new day to start again.
