Damn cris sema is in like a few weeks ya know! Haha
Also I love the dash but I think the tach and speedo are gonna be a lil small! Lol |
Chris,
i remember reading the owner was coming to discuss the rear spoiler details at some point. Was that done and is this the final cut? I dont remember seeing anything about it after the upcoming visit comment....I like it the way it is (took some time tough) just wondering if you guys are set about it or ??? Also, what tires are these already?? Loving every nut on this one!!!Your creativity is really taking this thing to a new level!! Lead. |
I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure the tires are Nitto NT05s.

Wow, Cris. That car is coming along very, very nice. Looks awesome!
I'm digging the rear and the dash. We need more pics when the dash is complete. |
We changed the spoiler before the owner came for a visit.. approved what you see in the car.. This is the set spoiler for now.. I am not even done with car yet & we are talking some changes on phase two..
Tires are Nitto NT05's Quote:

Hey Cris, it was good talking to you the other day...
I think what I meant to say is just order me one of these in a deep electric blue but can I get it in a convertible instead? This is real nice. It is good to see local talent setting the bar real high and doing such quality work. Quick question: Are you concerned about the return oil line picking up heat on the way back to the engine? Quote:

Now that I have seen all of this, and read the whole post I feel inspired, but after all of this reading I need a nap. Again, awesome work and love the attention to detail. |
Got it fired up!!
|
What a car! Motor sounds bad azz! Congrats Cris...
(You need a steering wheel so you can pretend you're driving it ) |
At first I thought it was the space shuttle landing but now that I read your post I understand. Sounds very bad asszzzzz.
|
Hell yeah Cris! That's awesome. I'm hoping next saturday or the saturday following I can stop in. I'll give you a call when I find out what works best and see if it's cool with you.
|
Sounds awesome!

Ron- I was wondering who was gonna be the first about giving a hard time about the steering wheel..
Jeff- Car will be leaving to the upholstery shop on Tuesday.. It will be gone for a few days.. Call me before you come out to make sure that it is here.. I was anxious to here the exhaust system on this car! The car kicked me a fought me all day yesterday to get fired up.. The one thing that worried me the most was that I opened up the wiring harness that Speartech had re-worked for me & cleaned it up & loomed it in nylon braid.. My fear of LS wiring on LS conversions is completely gone.. Getting the engine to build oil pressure before fire up was time consuming.. but once pressure was built it was smooth from their.. The dry sump oil system worked out great.. It holds about 11 qts of oil.. The temp maintained @ 180 thru first fire-up.. The ProPart Spek gages are awesome... But I am having a problem getting the the rest of the gages.. ProParts is working on getting the rest of them to me this week.. The smoked glass on this car is going to look great... Today I get the rest of the door glass in.. The SEMA crunch continues! Quote:

As for the rest of your startup experience - I can almost quote you. I have to update my own build thread but suffice to say I spent most of the day re-wiring also. Speartech was fine. ISIS was fine. Custom dash fine but the combination of the above took some last minute (re)work. Similarly - I am no longer scared of the LS wiring. However my fear did extend well into the oil system esp at startup but my engine builder showed me how that goes. Anyway - glad you are getting close. Looking forward to seeing this monster at SEMA! Gregg |
Gregg- I have never posted engine specs.. We had a stock LS7 that we opened up & changed a few things.. kept the stock crank & rods, changed the pistons, balance & blueprint, valve job, Avaid oil screen baffle, new cam that I will have to look for specs..
The gages were a bit pricy but worth it to monitor the engine that we all worry about.. These gages are used in Cup racing.. The cool thing about them is that they are programmable.. If oil pressure hits 20 PSI.. it warns you by turning red.. same for oil temp, water, tach.. The speedo has pit row monitor to not exceed speeds on pit row.. ISIS was discussed early in the build but decided to keep the wiring simple.. This car is complicated in many ways but also kept easy in other ways.. Ken W from Wire 1 has been great to work with… I told him that I wanted to clean up the engine harness that Speartech had done for me.. but I had never silver soldered.. He gave a crash course on it & told me to mark all wires before I started.. learned a lot .. That was my biggest fear on the engine fire up.. all good.. Ken did the rest of his own body harness.. The oil system was another worry because we did our own system to a extent.. This is our first car with all in house custom plumbing.. learned even more on that part.. The Vaporworks/Ricks fuel system again worked perfect for me.. Of course it helps that Carl comes in and sets up my gas tanks with his system.. Quote:

Never thought a blue like that could look so mean.

Very nice.
|
Sweet rig! All black and blue, and Im sure it will "bruise" the competition.
|
Lookin' good Cris! You will get the knack of tank assembly one day
Now please tell me you're going to raise the ride height...... |
Beautiful Camaro!
The black trim and bumper look sleek. |
Carl- That is ride height!! to start off with.. I am sure we will have to adjust it when start driving it.. That is why we spent the time making sure that everthing is tucked underneth the frame rails..
Here is another shot of the car in a differnet angle.. I spent @ least an hour last nite looking @ it in diffeent angles.. The car to me just sets right @ this ride height.. http://i1015.photobucket.com/albums/...n/IMG_1622.jpg Quote:

Stance is perfect! Nice job!

perfect stance and wheel fitment! never was a fan of black trim, but between this one, and rpms "runt" it may be growing on me.

That ride height looks killer! The car looks mean! Everything is subtle and clean. :hail:
