Ricochet 06-22-2022 11:05 PM

To say I've been burning the midnight oil lately is an understatement. I'm trying to get my stuff wrapped up on the chassis before I take it down to put the body on this weekend. The last few nights have been productive.....https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...15cacd47d2.jpgI'm using Big Stuff 3 engine and transmission management system which utilizes a coil on plug system. I mounted all the coils under the radiator cradle. I made brackets which mounted all of the wiring for the coil packs, spark plugs and crank trigger along the block. Trying my best to hide all of the wiring.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...285dad8469.jpgPowdercoated the intake and fuel rails satin black. Today I assembled it all back together.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...dbfe820e9b.jpgCleaned up the look of the fuel injectors. Used a piece of heat shrink tubing to cover the housing for a cleaner look. Truth be told I stole this from another builder Troy Trepanier. [emoji6]https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...272cd7e9ff.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...f554a35233.jpgThe look I've been attempting to go with the motor is more of an industrial , functional piece of machinery. Just added a little bit of bling to make it pop a little. Very happy with the results thus far....https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...499ce77732.jpgPicked up the exhaust Monday after having it Cerakoated. Once the wiring was finalized I got the headers and exhaust installed.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...df4994a407.jpgYou can see the harness plug near the oil filter. Something so simple, per se, took hours to get all figured out and packaged away from everything. It's all in the details...https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...ce455d50ad.jpgTonight I got the intake, throttle body, valvecovers, thermostat housing, etc all done.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...8b5b216dd7.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...6255df4253.jpg

I’m going to need you to clean whatever that is where the transmission bolts to the crossmember please. Unacceptable in this build. :underchair:

Looks amazing Brother. I am so stoked for you and can’t wait to see it in person.

Thanks Lenie!! Much appreciated! Funny.. I dug back through this thread a couple months ago because I remember us talking about heat shields for the mufflers years ago. Will be installing in the next couple weeks!!

So when I embarked on this 55 Chevy 18 years ago, this guy was right (on the right) there helping me make this thing become reality. We spent many hours together the first few years of the build. Unfortunately the car sat idle more times than I care to think. Although he has since moved to Texas he came out and spent the past 10 days out here helping assemble this bucket of bolts. Can't thank him enough for taking time out to come back to California. Always a pleasure. The family loved spending time with him as well. I regret not getting a picture of us by the car to reminisce a little. Did get one of him and my Dad though..

My youngest got all of the Boom Mat installed and wiring is well on its way. The panel and main harness is done for the most part. Now I'm onto the Big Stuff 3 Motor/Transmission management system. Lots to do in this arena. From the ECU to the injectors, sensors and COP system I'm having to take it all apart, cut and reterminate most everything for a cleaner and simpler look. Strongly recommend Ballenger Motorsports for plugs and terminals. They have great to deal with!!

Once I get everything done and it is running I will come back and wrap it all in loom.Attachment 78829Attachment 78830Attachment 78831Attachment 78832Attachment 78833Attachment 78835Attachment 78836Attachment 78838Attachment 78839

Well... Once again been lagging on the updates but still pushing on it.. At this stage I'm about 85% done with the wiring! Still need to button up some a few things in that department and tighten it up a bit... But coming out to my liking. I made a bolt in panel above the steering column that mounts all of the Dakota Digital module as well as the fan relays. Knowing how many things need constant hot, 12V switched hot and grounds - you will see in the middle of panel I set installed separate "Buses" if you for each. The top one is Constant Hot, the middle one switched hot & the bottom one is for grounds. There are covers that will go over each one when I'm done. The BigStuff3 management system is mounted to the right. The motor & trans wiring is 100% done! Just need to detail the fuel tank, install it, make a couple lines in the rear and hopefully make some noise!

Jim (aka The Painter) came by last weekend and we got the doors and trunk lid on. He did an amazing job on this. I can't thank him enough!! You can see him in the reflection!!! [emoji6]Attachment 79908Attachment 79909Attachment 79910Attachment 79911Attachment 79912Attachment 79913Attachment 79914

Here are some pics of the motor. Aside from the heater and AC lines everything is done. I'll be getting the steering column painted and back in the car this weekend. There is a painted (Body color) shroud that goes around the radiator and AC Condenser. Waiting until the lines are done before installing. Once again... Lagging on the updates... But still plugging away. Started putting the bright work on the car. Very happy with the way it pops off this color! After finishing the back side of the fenders with bedliner material we got them hung. Starting to look like something. Notice the body line we extended from the fender into the door 17" to mimic Bel Air molding. Headlights installed went with Dapper Lighting OE7. These are extremely nice units. And their customer service was second to none. On to the inner fenders this weekend... https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...b7217a9ffd.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...fe9b12fda1.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...b6e42b40f8.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...179663d920.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...c6760e1304.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...31d387adbd.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...72b7741a7b.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...0a24039879.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...30bf02af33.jpg
