I try to put 200 easy break in miles on the diff and trans. I've done that on the last couple cars and it helps keep the diffs quieter. You should vary speed and load and if you have coolers cycle them also to keep them cool. It is time well spent to check for leaks and loose parts also.

On a side note if you purchase a new car you should do the same. But you don't need to look for loose parts.

What's it weigh?

Any dashboard pics?

Thanks.

We had a chance to drive the car today. After 200 break in miles it does 65 MPH 3rd gear roll on burn outs.... Classic. ABS works great, no leaks, it's ready to go.

So far all things are good to go to go for Gingerman. Time to see what this thing will do! :lateral:

Ask Paul to show you the captions I put on my buddies picture with Travis Pastrana. It could have been much worse. I was trying to keep it forum appropriate.

Anyways the car looked great. I look forward to seeing it at the track. SEMA should be Finn this year.

Gingerman Test

Guys

Still hammer away on this deal.

We were set to test the car Oct 13 and 14 and Gingerman. The weather forcast looks very bad so we are going tomorrow now.

We got a great rate on the track so I have it to myself. If you need to shake down a car come out. I hope to be there by 9:00 Am and run until 5:00 PM.

Thanks

Mark

Amazing car! Hope to see it out running the circuit soon.

Skip Kag 10-12-2012 09:23 AM

Mark,

I bet you get asked this a lot, but do you do builds for hire? My employer is looking to get his 70s era Camaro done up, and he can't find any shops around here that really know what they're doing. Most seem all about getting work done on the cheap, and he's interested only in quality of the finished product (cost isn't really a factor for him).

Sorry if this isn't the right place to ask this; I tried sending a PM, but your inbox was full. Let me know if this is something you would be interested in.

Good luck on the track, tomorrow!

-Skip Kag

Whooooo! That thing looks bad A** Mark. Hope you get everything ready for Optima. It's awesome seeing your cars in action! I know the driver is dialed in.

CRCRFT78 10-13-2012 01:16 AM

The car looks damn sexy without a front bumper and rear spoiler on the track. Great job Mark.

Rick D 10-13-2012 05:10 AM

Sweet now let's hear how it did?? :unibrow: Is it ready to compete??

It's almost ready to go

Things that are done

-Stupid tire smoking power
-Hang you in your belt brakes
-Tuned JRI shocks to optimize grip
-Spring bar balance
-No leaks

Thing that need work

-Bleed brakes again. All new systems are hard to bleed
-I over acheived on oil cooling need to rework to get temp in the oil
-Nut and bolt the car and look for broken stuff
-Get the rubber and brake dust out of the wheel wells

We ran about 25 laps very hard. We had a few issues due to a brand new car

-One loose accy bolt on the engine
-Some loose wires that coused a ABS falt and 4 flat spotted tires

On a simular test day with Red Devil we are 2 seconds a lap faster. Mayhem has so much power you can hear the tires spinning in 4th gear going down the back straigh due to track being rough. I think we have hit my power limit for 200 treadwear tires on a 40 degree day...

Also a bunch of great guys came out to the track to play. So it was a great day to test car and hang out with some othe Lat-G member. They also kicked in to help me pay for the track. Thanks Guys.

Well back to the shop. The car ships in a week and a half.

Mark
